001. Settling In [semi-open]
WHO: Mohinder Suresh (+ Peter Petrelli, Adam Monroe, and/or Claire Bennet... whoever is home)
WHAT: Mohinder tries to make things more familiar.
WHERE: Peter's apartment.
WHEN: Evening.
Mohinder was exhausted.
His brain had been racing non-stop since he arrived in Rivelata and it was beginning to wear on him. He just had so many questions... what this place really was, for one. And why he was chosen to come here. He longed for home, for a quiet night watching some silly cartoon movie with Molly, but at the same time... he couldn't deny that small voice in the back of his mind telling him what an incredible opportunity this was. An entirely new civilization, ruled by a child queen, and a place that possessed properties that affected abilities? It was a veritable breeding ground for scientific theory and discovery. Mohinder shook his head and smiled bitterly. Like father, like son. Always putting science before people...
He looked up and saw a bright red door a little ways down the road. Peter had invited him to stay at his apartment and he was more than grateful, although he was slightly concerned about this Adam fellow... but it was about time to begin to settle in, at least as much as he could. He had been avoiding this, really. It felt like setting up a home meant he was resigned to being stuck here. However, he did need a place to sleep and if he was going to accomplish any sort of research he couldn't exactly carry everything with him all the time.
Knocking three times on the wooden door, Mohinder thought about where he had expected to be at this point in his life. Teaching in Chennai at the University, probably married, living his father's old life... He could barely admit it to himself, but even with everything that has happened to him, his life so far has been more fulfilling than staying in Chennai could have ever been.
