WHO: Lelouch Lamperouge and Hino Rei
WHAT: A rescue mission
WHERE: The Forest Church
WHEN: Day 227
He knew he was probably the last person she wanted to see, but anyone at all was better than no one, in the state she was currently in.
It had taken some time-- more than he would have liked-- to retrieve the antidote for her, but he knew, in the long run, having it with him would be more efficient than going back and getting it for her once she was back in the city.
As he approached the church, Lelouch thought on the events of the past few days. With Rivelata growing ever more unpredictable, it was important to have those on his side with unique abilities-- a chess set, as it were-- especially since the dissolution of the Council and the disappearance of Claire and Hiruma. Normally, he would try so hard to befriend someone so adamantly against him, but she and Minako clearly had demonstrated... interesting abilities, and even had the power to "save the world".
But, even if he tried to rationalize it, he knew there was another reason he was here. Lelouch could be ruthless, he could be cold, he could murder, if he had to, for his ends. But, in the end, his ends were the happiness of his sister and his friends. Minako had, without second thought, taken him in and cared for him when he was extremely vulnerable... and he could not disregard this kindness, not dismiss it easily. Her friend was now in danger, and it would be a grave disservice to her if he failed to save her when Minako herself could not.
And so, with as much efficiency as he could muster, Lelouch tore away the plants from the doorway of the church and made his way inside, removing from his belt the vial and calling out.
"Hino-san? Hino-san, are you there?"
