Could this be more perfect? Seymour mused on the thought that things could not have turned out better, even if he had planned this. Which he had not. He had simply listened curiously as the Forest Church worriedly whispered to each other. Anger. Anger. Anger. Danger, grave danger...
An attack on the town, the plants had said, an attack to harm the city-dwellers. Seymour had laughed in delight, unable to believe such luck. He would not have to create a scene where he could show off how he was such a good citizen; someone else had set the scene for him.
So he had waited patiently, cognition centered on the one goal: play the hero.
Harder than he had planned, really, as he strode purposefully through the town. Clothing was simple and dirtied, the attire he usually wore when tending to his temple. The attacking plants shrieked at him with frenzied voices, and he had to admit it was taxing trying to calm them with a voice not as strong as he would have liked.
But soon he spotted the pair, hastening his steps before falling to his knees at Lulu's side. He would save her, yes. He would force onto her a life debt, knowing she would find herself obliged to repay him at one point or another. "Lady Yuna, how fares she?"
