Bar Hades was not difficult to discover. Located right in the heart of the marketplace, it was the perfect spot for the booze lover. Seifer, for one, had never visited it, yet he found it easily enough.
Laguna wasn't even his father. Even if he did get wasted, it was none of his business. He could care for Puberty Boy all he wanted.
His eyes quickly adjusted to the dimmer lightings of the bar, scanning the room for the silhouette of a woman he barely knew through the journals. Seifer thought he'd passed someone - that Kuro-something man. He shrugged.
She was not hard to find, either, not with her slender, lanky frame and extraordinary dress. He shrugged out of his trench coat, hanging it on the seat rest, before sliding into the chair opposite hers.
"Is it time for me to say 'a pleasure to meet you, m'lady'?" He asked smoothly, unable to keep the amusement out of his voice.
"You know me?" Seifer exclaimed, mock incredulity lining his voice. He obviously knew that anyone bored enough to keep track of the journals would have known many names by now. It didn't stop him from feigning ignorance.
"Yuuko, eh?" He strained his eyes to examine the woman before him. She looked nothing less than beautiful, with her perfect curves and long, flowing hair. Seifer didn't feel anything, however. It was probably the thought of tasting alcohol after such a long time. "I would like to talk about suggestions for good wine."
Yuuko smiled again. He was entertaining, at least. It was always better to drink in good company.
"Well, that would depend on whether you're more interested in tasting the liquor or feeling it," she said, sipping her drink. She held up her glass. "This is brandy, not wine, but it is serves both purposes exceptionally well."
She, of course, was barely starting to get tipsy, and would never be totally drunk, but if he didn't drink often, it would be interesting to see how he would manage with such strong liquor.
Seifer too held up the glass before him, raising it to his lips. Instead of taking an elegant sip like Yuuko did, he downed half a glass in one go.
"This is good stuff," he declared, recalling the last time he'd had booze. Raijin had smuggled a couple of beers into their dormitory. Funny, really, that they used to be the Disciplinary Team. Compared to beer, brandy proved to be so much more worthy.
He watched the liquid as it swirled temptingly within the glass, before tilting his head back to empty it. Then he glanced at the woman before him without showing any sign of being drunk. "So. We're really here to taste alcohol?"
Most times he would have been right to be suspicious. Today, however, Yuuko really was there for the liquor. Anything else that came from their meeting was simply a bonus. She emptied her glass and motioned to Kasa to bring another.
"Of course," she said sweetly, "Why else would we be here?"
Amused, Seifer waved a waitress over for a fresh glass of vodkatini. He wasn't one for patterns, even less so multiple doses of identical alcohol.
He fixed his gaze upon Yuuko. "I don't know," the shadow of a smile began lurking about his lips, "I expected something... more from someone like you." It was a full-on smirk now, barely visible as a silhouette in the dimly lit bar. He liked it like that.
Seifer might have possessed a romantic dream, but he never had a taste for random hook-ups. Save for Rinoa. Those words were purely of teasing nature. Of course, Yuuko was free to interpret otherwise. The ex-knight continued to watch her, taking a swig from his vodkatini.
Even if Yuuko had had an ulterior motive, it wouldn't have been romantic in nature. However, she could tease just as well as him.
"Well, most days you would be right to think that there was some deeper reason for me to invite you out, but since we were both bored, I thought it might be fun to have some company. It's always better to drink in good company, isn't it?"
She didn't really seem to be flirting, but it was impossible to be sure that she wasn't. She, of course, was not interested in a romantic relationship. It was merely a way to fight the boredom.
"I must say, I am honored." Seifer flashed her a cheeky smile. It's been a while since he last did this with a girl. Not that he preferred guys, of course.
He snapped his fingers to catch the attention of a waiter nearby. "Two of your best cocktail mixes! ...Heh. It's on me." Turning back to her with a smirk, he inwardly wondered how long Yuuko could last.
If alcohol got the better of him, he might even invite her to a little dance. Nothing too embarrassing, however. He had to mind his reputation.
Yuuko gave a seductive smile. "How very kind of you."
She picked up the glass that the waiter brought and took a drink, holding the sweet liquor in her mouth for a moment before she swallowed it. She could feel the liquor starting to go to her head just a little, but she wouldn't show any signs of it for quite a while.
Seifer watched Yuuko down another glass and chuckled to himself, evidently amused. To retrieve his wineglass on the table, he leaned forward, leaving his face inches away from the witch's.
"Don't down too much booze," he quipped airily in his best imitation of a caring mother. "Y'know, bad for your health and all."
"How very sweet of you to be concerned for me," she said, looking both seductive and amused at the same time, "It's very kind, but I think I'm old enough to look after myself."
She smirked internally. She was definitely old enough.

"My name is Yuuko Ichihara. You can call me that. And it's nice to meet you, Seifer," she said. She motioned to Kasa to bring another drink.
She tilted her head back a little and examined him. "Well, what would you like to talk about?"
