Kyon dashed through the darkness and sheets of rain, journal in one hand, heavy cloak in the other. It was late, and it was dangerous, he knew, but somehow, he couldn't help but grin like an idiot. Asahina-san was here. Now almost the whole SOS Brigade was here.
While that did worry him, because the more of the SOS Brigade was here, the less he knew Haruhi would want to get them home, he had missed them. Just having Nagato back had brightened things up for him. Yes, she was quiet, no, aside from having the important talk they had needed to have about this place and about Haruhi, she hadn't talked much more than usual... but that was just it. She didn't need to. She was Nagato, and he had missed having her around, just as much as he had missed Asahina-san around, different though they were.
Itsuki probably wasn't far behind, Kyon knew, but, as much as the boy bothered him and annoyed him-- quite frankly, he even creeped him out a little-- Kyon also knew that it just wouldn't be the Brigade without him. They needed everyone, or they just wouldn't be complete.
Still, he wasn't terribly concerned with all that right now. Instead, he was concerned about Asahina-san, and reaching her before she was complete drenched, or, worse, taken advantage of. As much as he liked the bunnygirl outfit, in weather like this, it would provide absolutely no protection from the weather, gawking onlookers, or worse, which was why he had set off so quickly. Haruhi, he knew, would catch up soon-- she had super-speed, after all, hell, she might even get there before he did-- and though now he knew for certain things between himself and Asahina-san would never go beyond friendship-- he had Haruhi, and she had him-- he still felt the need to shelter and protect Asahina-san. And, yes, he did want to see her in the bunnygirl outfit again.
Finally, he reached the docks, looking for the signature bunny ears, the teary eyes, silken hair, and the creamy skin of the SOS Brigade's mascot, calling out for her by name.
"Asahina-san! Asahina-san, I'm here! Where are you?"
