WHO: Yagami Light (ttlynotkira) and Amane Misa (kirafangirl)
WHAT: Picking up a ditz and subsequent orders
WHERE: The docks, a date, and then the Crimson Dragon
WHEN: Day 200, about two seconds after this post.

Misa sat on the docks, perfectly in plain sight. Light-kun was coming for her! She knew he loved her, and here he was proving it. She could barely contain her excitement, but she knew that if Light-kun told her to stay where she was, she should do it. She was so happy to be part of one of his plans again.

Did that mean he wasn't disappointed she hadn't touched him with her piece of the Death Note? Oh well! They could go on a date, and have so much fun. It was a good day when Light-kun offered to pick her up in a new city!

She always knew he loved her!

Misa was here now. This was on top of L being around, and Light swore he'd read something in the journals about Ryuk. No matter. He would use her for now and deal with everyone else later.

It figured she wouldn't be the least bit conspicuous. Light kept all comments to himself as he approached her.

"Come with me and don't cause a scene," he whispered.

She pouted a little, still, she went along with it. Light-kun knew what he was doing, and so she did what he asked. She took his hand and began walking with him, because this obviously wasn't making a scene out of his picking her up. Obviously. She had so many questions to ask Light-kun, like how long he planned on staying?

Was this part of his plan to create a new world?

But he asked her not to talk yet, and Misa wanted him to love her. Since he didn't seem to notice she hadn't touched him with the Death Note yet, she didn't think too much of it. Then again, what if she should right now, and he was hinting at it? But she didn't know where that slip had gotten off to!

As soon as they left the docks, there was a convenient alley for them to duck off into, with plenty of crates for cover. Light let go of Misa's hand and looked her straight in the eye.

"Has someone already linked you to a Guide? Did you read it? That should have answered most of your questions already."

She blinked for a little bit, distracted by his eyes. Guide? "Was I supposed to read that? I thought it was a joke on Misa! Like where they take famous people and pull pranks..." She trailed off, looking Light in the eyes, a blush on her cheeks. She put a hand up to her mouth, "Oh!!! Misa was supposed to get a script for this, wasn't I? How come Misa wasn't told? Was this part of your plan, Light-kun?"

Her bottom lip quivered a little. "This wasn't in your letter..."

Letter? Light pondered that. Could she still be talking about their plan to give up the Death Note? That would be unfortunate if she had to be caught up to speed.

"It's not a script. This is real. We've been trapped in a world other than our own and we need to get back to Japan. I don't have time to spend in a place like this.

"The main thing you need to know is that people are unable to use magic or powers here. That includes items imbued with supernatural powers." The implication was pretty obvious, in his opinion.

But it was Misa he was talking to. She stared a little more, still blushing.

"Supernatural..." Her face lit up with recognition. Of course! He meant... "Is that why I can't see names?" She frowned a little more. She wanted to be of use! If she couldn't be Light-kun's eyes, what was she? Obviously his girlfriend and soulmate, but that wasn't as useful as shinigami eyes for Light-kun's plan to recreate the world, now was it?

"Real..." She looked up at him, eyes shining. "I'll do my best to help us get back to Japan!" Misa declared.

"Your eyes?" Damnit. Of course that meant that Misa's eyes wouldn't work in this world. Yet another setback.

At least she was willing to help him, despite not having her abilities. "We have to be just as careful here as in Japan. Even though we can't use our abilities, we don't need to draw any attention to ourselves. "There is one more important thing," he said, eyes darting from side to side, as if he'd appear just by being mentioned.

"L is here."

She nodded at the eye comment, slightly disappointed in herself. At the mention of L, Misa gasped, hand up to her mouth. "L? Really?" Her eyes widened. Then they softened a little. "Then we have to work even harder, right? I'll do my very best to help your plans, Light-kun!" She smiled reassuringly. "I'll do anything you ask, even without my eyes or notebook!"

They shone again, adoration and love pervading every inch of her. Then she gasped, "Oh! No!" She dug through her purse, nearly wailing, "Now how do we keep in touch? My cell phone isn't in here!"

Light took a deep breath and closed his eyes, fighting back the urge to slam his head into the nearest wall, as he often felt like doing in Misa's presence. "Cell phones don't do any good here. It's not like you'd get reception."

There had only been a tiny break in the rain, and now the heavens opened up again. With a shake of his head, Light grabbed Misa's hand again and dragged her into the nearest storefront. To any outsider, it would look like the two lovebirds had rushed to get out of the rain. To Light, it was a moment to collect his thoughts before giving her any orders.

Her eyes widened a little at the 'no reception' and she wondered how she was going to work here if no one could call her cell phone, but squealed in delight when Light dragged her out of the beginning rain and into a store. She wrapped her arms around his once they were inside out of the rain. Misa waited for him to speak.

"Are we going on a date now? We haven't been on one date since Ryuzaki and you were..." She lowered her voice, "Handcuffed together. And those dates were totally lame because he was always watching. Pervert."

He looked around to see if anyone had noticed when she began squeaking, but no one had. At least they could still use the 'dating' excuse for her enthusiasm.

"Date. Fine." He pretended to peruse the shelves, keeping his voice low and speaking very deliberately. "L is still alive here. Oddly enough, he seems to be more concerned with settling down than going back to Japan... though I imagine he feels he has no choice.

"The only way to get back powers is by practice. However, the names I've written down so far produce no results. You'll have to relearn as well. Try and use the eyes whenever you look at someone, until something happens. Understand?"

She squealed and grabbed his arm again, practically cutting off the circulation when he agreed to a date. "Goodie! We can find the best restaurant and have the most romantic dinner by the beach~" When he mentioned L, Misa blinked. "Still alive? He was always alive." Unless... "Did you kill him?" Her eyes widened, and she gasped again. "Did you get his name and kill him like you wanted? Then why is he still alive?" She shook her head, but that only whipped her pony tail against Light's arm. "This place sure is weird."

But then he gave her a mission. She grinned. "I'll do it! I promise! I'll look for names and stuff, and practice writing and I'll make you love me more!"

"Good." He didn't want to go into the details regarding L at the moment. Light knew that, should Misa actually meet up with the detective, she could spill all the information to him. L did not need to know that he was actually dead, much less who killed him.

"There is another issue that's been on my mind, but it's probably best not to speak of it here. It concerns the journals, though, and references to a Godking. I don't like the sound of it."

They returned to the Crimson Dragon, Light having mostly tuned out Misa's attempts at conversation. It was there that he finally got in depth about what was going to happen:

He was going to downplay his existence in Rivelata as much as possible, despite the fact that L knew he was here. He was going to slowly work to regain the powers of the Death Note by performing little experiments every day until something worked. Last but not least, he expected her to do the same and not breath a word of his existence to those who didn't need to know.

What he left out from this was his ultimate plan, but Misa didn't need to know that yet.
