WHO: The Goddamn Batdad-In-Law Clark Kent, Starfire, and anyone who wants to join in! WHAT: Learning the world all over again WHERE: The docks, then (presumably) the Bathouse WHEN: Day 196
Starfire was still not entirely sure where she was or how she had gotten here, but at least there were some nice people here. Though that one person who had told her that her friends were being sacrificed was not very nice nor was was he funny.
She was waiting now by the docks for the man who had told her that his name was Clark Kent. He said that he knew someone she knew. She was wondering who it was when she heard her name being called. Standing, the alien girl waved to the approaching man. "Greetings!" she called, starting over towards him.
She looked more or less as she had been described, though perhaps a little younger than expected. Then again, that could either be attributed to her being from a slightly different world-- like Cassandra-- or from an earlier point in the timeline. Either way, the detail wasn't particularly important.
Still smiling as he reached her, he nevertheless spoke a little more softly than usual, his cheerful outward appearance undermined by the slightly serious tone in his voice as he questioned her.
"Nightwing?" There was pause. "Do you mean Robin?" She remembered from the 'future' she had been in that Robin had taken on the new name of Nightwing when the Titans had seperated, but she hadn't known if he had ever used it before. In either case, she smiled again. "Do you know him?"
That confirmed it. She was either from an alternate timeline, or from when they first met. Though the fact that she recognized Nightwing as another alias of his was interesting... he'd have to ask her about that at some point.
As he spoke, he reached into one of the pouches of his utility belt and pulled out a batarang and showed it to her, leaving it in his open palm.
The girl looked down at batarang in the man's hand before looking back up at his face. She had never met Batman in person before now, and Robin didn't talk much about his life before the Titans (though to be fair, none of them really did). However, she knew enough. With another one of her beaming smiles, she hugged the man tightly. It was a good thing her superstrength wasn't working.
He supposed he shouldn't have been quite so surprised by the hug as he was... but he was. Pleasantly so. It was a bright spot-- she was a bright spot-- in an otherwise rather dark series of days. Admittedly, she would have been better off if she hadn't come here, but... It was a comfort, if only a small one, and he would take it.
"Thank you. It's nice to meet you, too."
He assumed from her tone he hadn't told her much of the details of why he'd left Gotham, but if he hadn't, Batman wasn't about to create bad blood between them by telling her. If Nightwing arrived and decided to tell her, so be it. But until then, there would be more pressing matters to attend to.
"I don't suppose he's ever told you much about Cassandra, has he?"
It would be best, after all, if she was at least a little prepared for her housemate, whose personality was more or less the complete opposite of her own. Well, not that his own wasn't, but still.

Starfire shook her head, letting go. "No, I do not believe he did..." She wouldn't have forgotten anything Robin told her about his life in Gotham since the information came so sparsely and she wanted to know as much about his life at least partially as much as he knew about hers. "Who is she? Was she a friend of his? Is she here?"
"The second Batgirl, and, yes, she's a friend of his, though not as close to him as she is with Tim Drake, and, yes, she's here. She's living with me while we're here. Since you'll need somewhere to stay and there's still a spare bedroom, I thought you might stay with us, too."
He smiled, and started to lead her towards the city.
"Are you particularly hungry right now? We could stop and get you something to eat."
She smiled happily at him. "Thank you very much!" She walked alongside him, looking around at the town. It was all so strange and new, and she wasn't sure if she was ready to adapt to yet another world. But in this case, she didn't seem to have a choice. At least the others here weren't from this place, either.
At his question, the girl smiled a little sheepishly. "I am a little but..." She pulled out the coins from his pocket. "This are the money things for this world, yes?"
"Yes, but I can take care of this. You shouldn't have to worry about that, especially on your first day here. Is there anything in particular you'd like?"
He'd heard of the Tamaranean's strange tastes in Earth food, and while he knew it was probably true, he hoped they could find something here to her liking, though he had a feeling it would be something rather... unexpected.
Luckily, the girl had Earth foods on the mind today. "Um... do they have pizza here?" she asked, "And mustard?" The tangy yellow liquid would forever be her favorite drink.
Figured we'd fold in the threads this way...darkknightfallOctober 12 2008, 09:03:31 UTC
"Pizza, yes. Mustard... I don't think so, yet, at least, but I'm sure we can check."
There were very, very many things Batman kept track of in Rivelata. So, naturally, when one of his former ward's friends showed up, she asked him about one of the few things he didn't. Somehow, he wasn't surprised that she had caught him off guard like that, though. Her mind seemed to work in a way very different from his own. And that was good for Rob-- Nightwing. He had to remember, Dick was no longer Robin. He had cast off that name long ago.
And then a rather loud voice reached them, distracting them from their pizza-and-mustard hunt...
