Things had been settled with Grell, Giselle was slowly but surely recovering, and now Penelo was coming to visit Giselle, understanding the Princess' changed mindset perhaps better than anyone else on the island, even better than Bruce, whose tragedy now seemed so long ago, despite how all-consuming it was for him.
Bruce had taken something of the position of the nurse/knight in the household for the moment, making sure Giselle was physically cared for adequately, that someone was there when Edward could not be, and that no one could break in again without him immediately knowing.
So, naturally, when there was a knock at the door, he, being the most alert, was the one who was first to answer it, opening the door wide for the young baker when he saw it was her.
"Miss Penelo. I'm glad to see you're doing better, and up and about."
