WHO: All of the captives that were taken during the bloodbath ball, and the guards who watch them. WHAT: Adventures while... being stuck in a cave. WHERE: That's a secret! WHEN: Several hours after the ball, begins early morning.
Okay so, Casimiro should probably have known better when the General had asked if he wanted to be on special detail.
De Viers was always doing shit like that, and Casimiro always fell for it, and now he was stuck in some cave with a bunch of the newcomers, and his leg hurt, and it was wet.
His leg didn't like the damp. It was an old wound from an old battle, but it still liked to pop up and remind him from time to time it was there. Just like an old girlfriend, and just as fucking unwelcome. He was a big man, swarthy as the locals, with a beard he kept neatly trimmed all around his face. He leaned back against the cave wall, feeling the smooth hilt of his sword tucked into his belt. He didn't get his usual feeling of comfort, and strength from it, though. All he could hear were people screaming--bleating--like animals while the shots went off. It had been like herding sheep, or trying to cut through a herd of sheep, and maybe if he'd been on the ballroom floor instead of guarding the queen-- Well, there was no point. He hadn't got

Hakkai a warm presence at his back, Sora a solid weight in his arms, Kurama gazed out through the bars with cautious green eyes. He tried to shake his long red hair out of his face, but it didn't really work, since he was incapable of moving his head too much, lest it start screaming again.
"Sir," he asked, hating this submission, but knowing it was perfectly necessary to keep himself - and his friends - alive, "is there any way we could get a cup of water for the boy? His throat is bothering him - he can barely speak."
It took Casimiro a minute to realize that someone was talking to him. Valery had been sulking since last night, and he'd assumed the prisoners would keep mostly to themselves. In fact he'd hoped they would, since de Viers had as good as threatened him with disembowelment if he lost his temper again, and he had this feeling like talking to the newcomers, it was going to make him lose his temper again.
He cleared his throat, taking his weight off the wall to approach the prisoners' enclave. Not too close, though. He wasn't about to let anyone touch him, or anything like that.
While Tsuna was up to fetch water for Rhode and his conversing with Doctor House was completed he finally noticed the group trying to talk to their jailor. Not to step over anyone's toes, and he really would try to help Sora as soon as he could, there was still a young girl who was in a lot worse condition.
"Please! That girl over there has been shot, she needs to see a Doctor!" he pleaded. "She might die!"
Casimiro grumbled, not altogether liking being put in a position of--well, he was basically babysitting. For a bunch of infants by the looks of things. They all had questions, too, wanted things, and he didn't like that.
People who wanted things were needy. He didn't like needy people.
One kid needed water. One had been fucking shot. It was always something with prisoners, only Casimiro--for whatever reason--he was feeling a little less than sympathetic towards people who had been shot.
It's not like that girl died he thought bitterly, before grudgingly coming closer. The bars were too close together for any kind of funny business anyway, and it wasn't like he couldn't handle himself. He supposed--doing something for this other kid wouldn't be so bad. If they were meant to kill the prisoners, they'd have done it straight away. General de Viers didn't mess around with that kind of shit. Neither did Casimiro

But she could have died! how come Tsuna was the only one worried about a young girl being shot in the face?! He just sighed, having no idea on what to do next. That was until the Colonel spoke again.
"She was shot just under the eye!" he said quickly, reaching forward to grab the bars. "She needs help, please!"
He'd gone back to fetch a pitcher, a small metal cup for the water. It wasn't anything fancy, but they kind of had to keep the prisoners alive and all. Some of them seemed inhuman, but he was pretty sure they still needed water. It was all he could do not to sigh with frustration. Water this, bandage that, none of this had happened on Val's duty, or else he'd have heard about it.
"Shot under the eye and she's still breathing?" He whistled, trying not to feel bitter, and crouched down next to the bars, trying to see the little girl.
"She's in a lot of pain," Tsuna answered. He was so worried about the girl.
So what if he had fought her a few nights ago. Although, it wasn't much of a fight since she just tried to use illusions to scare him, but he saw through them. Even if Tsuna disagreed with how the girl led her life, he couldn't help but feel sorry for her.
"Let me see her," Casimiro said, leaning close, with the glow of the crystal at his back. It wasn't as though they could take her out of the cell, but he'd had training as a field medic, and he knew how to shut someone up so they didn't bleed to death, or whatever.
Anyway, this kid had giant fucking eyes and was clearly one step away from wetting his pants or crying or both, and that reminded Casimiro of Major Valery, so it put him in a charitable mood.
They were talking about her. It was almost obnoxious, but she couldn't quite figure out what they were saying- Rhode wanted to know what was going on, damn it. What was wrong and how fast it could be fixed.
It wasn't going to stop hurting and making it impossible to think, though. Thirsty, in pain, having trouble breathing, and far away from home or anyone she would remotely want nearby in this situation. Things were just getting better every minute.
"M'thirsty-" She didn't know for sure if she even said it out loud, but her mouth was too dry to try saying it again.
"Yes, sir," Kurama murmured, keeping his expression blank and his eyes clear. "He's been coughing for quite some time, now, and it pains him to speak."
He shifted his grip on Sora carefully, wondering if he dared hope. The guards had been terse, but that was all so far. Maybe...
He quelled that thought quickly. Better to hold off for a while longer. Just in case.
Finally, they were getting somewhere. Hakkai stepped a little closer, wondering if Sora had perhaps fallen asleep. He looked a little too pale, which worried Hakkai some more.
The colonel was walking away, maybe to get some water. Hakkai hoped this was a start.
"Here," he said roughly, thrusting the cup of water through the bars. It took some maneuvering, he had big hands, and the space between the bars wasn't exactly--well it wasn't large.
Since Kurama had his hands full and Sora looked like he was nearly passed out, Hakkai grabbed the cup from the colonel's hand and stepped back into the shadows.
"Sora, please wake up. Here, I have water." He lifted the cup up to Sora's lips, hoping the boy would be able to drink on his own.

"That's her over there," he pointed the girl on the ground mumbling something.
"You've got to get a doctor!" Tsuna yelled through the bar. "Please!"

"Wait a minute," Casimiro barked, turned his gaze back to the redhead. "You'll--I'll see what I can do."

He still had to look at that girl.
