WHAT: The meeting of fighters Kurogane called for who, for whatever reason, would want to defend Rivelata from attack.
WHERE: Katou's unopened bar
WHEN: Noon, Day 138
If Kurogane had not had Fay around, he wouldn't have given a rat's ass.
During his time in Rivelata, though, his perspective on the vampire had changed. It was an almost imperceptible shift, barely consequential, but suddenly there was something Kurogane needed to defend. Under normal circumstances, then, he'd simply have resolved to protect that himself, but enough stories of the last encounter with the dragon had convinced him that one human (with an admittedly special sword) would just not be enough, no matter how damn good he was.
So he'd arranged this meeting of an otherwise ragtag team of fighters, so they could organize, form a strategy for defending against that dragon. So they could each defend what mattered most. It was more than the other team could have done.
Renji had loaned him the space in this bar after the tattooing incident as a sort of apology gift, despite the fact that apparently nothing had gone on. He was grateful for the room, as it had lots of space and enough tables to push together for everyone, but he still didn't know exactly what he felt about why he'd gotten it. Besides - he was pretty sure the actual owner of the bar, Katou, didn't know they were using it at all.
He stood at the head of the pushed-together tables with a map in front of him, waiting for the others to arrive. The 8.5"x11" sheets of paper he'd hung neatly from the rafters above the cleared space in the bar looked rather silly, but they were going to be necessary for seeing exactly what this bunch could do.
A dark, fighting smile split his face. Fighting this kind of dragon? Should be interesting.
