Okita could roughly see Himawari awaking from where he was hidden. He could not really tell if she was terrified, however, as he watched her approach, searching for the source of the disturbance that drew her out of her sleep. At this point, he had two options in mind. One was to jump out as she rounded the corner and give her a scare, or to sneak up behind her. Though, trying to frighten her would take a bit of effort, it seemed. He had half expected Himawari to wake up screaming, or at least, not advance towards his way so calmly. The only lighting in the house was from the moonlit night, and Okita wondered if it was dark enough to conceal his presence- but well he would give the second idea a try. With his mind made up, Okita crouched down gently, all fours on the ground, so that he was below her eye level.

Moving to the side a little, he started crawling slowly, hoping to pass by Himawari undetected as she walked. After all, unless she was looking at the ground, which people would not normally be doing so, his plan would perhaps succeed. He just needed to crawl past her to hide somewhere else in the house while he prepared for the next scare.

He was about to pass her soon. Only a few more steps until he reached his goal- Okita tensed in his tracks as Himawari spoke up, asking if his throat was all right. Hoping she had not and would not spot a figure crawling on the ground a few feet away from her, Okita continued on without responding. The night would be fun indeed.

"Fu... maybe it wasn't him, then." Himawari murmered softly to herself as she moved to look behind the wall, completely oblivious to Okita crawling by. It was rather dark after all.

Unable to tell exactly what time it was, she wondered just how long it would be until he showed up. Of course she could wait for a while now that she'd had a good nap.

...though it would probably be better to wait with some light. She began to move further into the home searching for the kitchen, where she had previously left an unlit candle upon the table.

It was times like that when Okita's breath holding exercises paid off. Sucking in as much air as he could silently, he held it in as Himawari drew close and hurriedly scurried past her into the surroundings behind. He had to thank all those training he did in the Shinsengumi, for otherwise, he would perhaps not be able to slip by as successfully. Pleased to have not yet been discovered, Okita reached both hands into both his pants pockets and took out a slightly smaller than palm size rock from each. Turning the rock around in his hands, Okita squinted hard to observe Himawari's actions. It was quite hard to tell what she was doing though. Hence, he took aim and hurled a rock to an area far from him but somewhat close to her.

Just as she managed to grasp the candle stick, Himawari felt something fly past her, lightly grazing her leg. Blinking, she turned around and tried to see what it was.

"Tanpopo? Are you awake...?" She furrowed her brows and pouted a bit. What a strange night this was, she wondered if she was hallucinating. Cautiously she stepped into the front room again and set the candle stick down, reaching into her pocket for a match. She found one, and struck it, lifting the lit candle to try and see a bit better around the room.

Okita had no clue who Tanpopo was, but if anything, he was more or less sure that that was not meant for him. Staying low in a corner of the front room, he had not really detected fear in her voice. Perhaps such ordinary techniques would not work after all. Returning the other rock into his pocket, Okita silently placed his palms on the ground and boosted himself up. He intended, if possible, to creep back out into the open and reenter the house, but this time through the proper way of knocking. Just as he took a few steps, however, a small flame lit up from Himawari's candle stick.

Okita paused in his tracks; if he could see the girl's face, it was best to assume she could see his as well. Straightening his posture so that he did not look much like some burglar tiptoeing about- though it probably was not working the least bit- Okita flashed a smile. "Ah, good evening," he said, just loud enough for her to hear him.

Himawari simply stared at him, pleasant expression on her face as always. She tilted her head a bit, as if perplexed by his presence.

"When di...Good evening." She simpered before letting her confusion get the best of her. She...she was sure she had locked the door. "I'm glad to finally see you, I wasn't sure what time it is. Now I know I've woken up on time." She beamed brightly. "...was that you making all that noise?" She finally asked, not a hint of malice or such things in her voice.

Himawari did not really appear stunned to see him, Okita thought. Then again, it was possible she was just being friendly and smiling it off. He had expected her to be furious as well, matter of fact. Well anyone would if someone broke into their house. Okita himself would not, though. He had a better approach.

"Huh?" He responded, considering denying it all, "I may have tripped over something while coming in, but I don't know what you're talking about otherwise." Making his way slowly towards her, he added, "Where shall we sit for the story telling? Ah and should we take turns to share?"
