WHO: Remus Lupin (
very_literate), Sirius Black (
padfooter), and whoever else would like to gawk at the nude men coming out of the jungle.
WHAT: Becoming normal after a night of trying to keep Moony out of trouble fun in the jungle.
WHERE: The edge of the jungle, and on to Lily's house
WHEN: Friday morning, whatever day that is.
This was a scene to which Remus was, regrettably, all too familiar with. These nights always seemed to blur past in a fit of unexplainable anger and rage, in blood pools of the animals unfortunate enough to cross his path, and with complete disregard to his companions behind him who struggled to keep up with his erratic twists and turns through the trees. There was no rhyme or reason to his destruction, it was bloodrage pure and simple. There wasn't even a hint of Remus remaining in the eyes of this beast he would monthly become.
The morning after his transformation, however, always seemed far more unbearable. The confusion of his mind, still part-animal, as he struggled to recall what had passed in the night served him a throbbing headache. And waking up stark-naked, heavily bruised and lacerated, among the cold leaves and morning dew was never precisely a pleasant experience. At least it was not the frost or snow of winter that was covering the ground now, that always seemed to give him a cold and he would have a runny nose for the next week or so. He hated the winter.
Remus sat up slowly, a hand on his forehead, and leaned up to take a glance outside the ditch they found themselves in. They were less than 20 paces from the edge of the town, and that caused him to mentally berate himself. But of course, Padfoot would have stopped him. He was always so good about that. But now there was the minor issue of getting back to Lily's house without being spotted. Surely a pair of bruised, battered, nude boys sneaking around the town square together would cause suspicion, if not downright alarm. At least at Hogwarts, with the vast amount of lazy teenagers, getting back around 6 AM usually guaranteed them some privacy. What a predicament...
