WHO: Yue Katou [
limboed] & Sakuya Kira [
comedawn]
WHAT: Anniversaries are so damn confusing.
WHERE: Market Place and later Kira's villa.
WHEN: Evening of Day 115, after
this.
This was beyond embarrassing. Clutching a small, haphazardly wrapped package in the pocket of his trousers, Katou wondered just what he was doing. He was making a fool out of himself; that was what he was doing. A complete and utter fool out of himself. But despite all that, he doubted that he could have done differently if he had even tried to.
Kira had surprised him with the affection of giving him his first ever anniversary present. Well, anniversary wasn’t quite it; they were merely passing the second month of their time together as… more than just friends. Lovers. A couple. Something like that. Anyway, he had given him a bar. That in itself had made the whole thing even more overwhelming. Sure, Katou had wanted a bar ever since the scholar had introduced him to the idea of being Rivelata’s first drug-lord, but Hell if he had expected the ever-joking black-haired teen to be serious.
And, naturally, along with all that came the guilt of not getting Kira a present himself. Hence he had excused himself from Saitani-ya Spices early, left a note to said scholar that he was coming home late and had circled town for near over two hours in search of something that could fall under the category of a good present for Kira. It wasn’t hard, of course, once he had found the right shop. Being best friends with him for more than three years had provided him with enough information on Kira to be able to find a suitable present for ever celebrated occasion of the year but this time it had felt a little more… complicated than that.
Sneaking into their villa, still grasping the
little something he had bartered off an old antique shop-owner, Katou silently prayed that the place was as empty as it looked. It would only make matters harder if Kira surprised him by being home. But, if he guessed correctly, the scholar was busy finishing things off at the pizzeria and wouldn’t be back for another half hour or so. Good.
He left the wrapped package on Kira’s side of the bed, blushing furiously as he imagined what would be in store for him as soon as it was discovered. He’d have to stay away for a couple of hours. With some luck Kira wouldn’t tease him too much once he came back.
