Who: Homura (
heavens_heretic) and Maximum Ride (
nixe_eva)
What: A meeting in the jungle
Where: The Jungle
When: Day 107, dusk-ish (kinda backlogged)
Max had very conveniently left her journal at her house, on her bed, in plain sight. Should Danny choose to go into her room, that made it quite obvious that she wouldn't be responding to anything in her journals once she left. As she'd told Batman, what was the point in taking the journal in a break from the world? The whole point was to get away from civilization for a few days, really, and go bother some jungle animals. Already, Max was more at ease after one day on the outskirts of the jungle than she'd ever been in the city. Max really wasn't a city girl.
She'd taken her weapons and the clothes on her back, just like the "good ole times" when she'd been on the run with the flock. Max had even chosen a comfortable tree to serve as her resting spot, since she so rarely slept, especially a place as hostile as "The Jungle". Already, she'd killed and skinned, rather lazily she might add, a snake for the heck of it. She hated snakes and that particular boa had infringed upon her resting area. Big mistake on the snake's part.
Looking at her after only a day away, Max was already covered in dirt and blood, with only a few obvious places where she'd taken some hits. Probably a bruised forehead from when she hadn't paid attention and slammed into a tree branch. That little thing would heal by the time she got back to the house anyways. Stupid slower healing. She was beginning to miss her snappy mutant healing, as she'd so lovingly dubbed it. At least the healing was coming faster the more she got hurt in Rivelata. Maybe it would be back up to full charge some day. Still, Max would take her current speed over what she'd had when she first appeared in the new world any day.
Max was kneeling over a fire roasting the monkey meat (the bones were disposed in a nearby bush), the light from the small campfire radiating in the twilight. As always, it was apparent she was tensed, every sense aware of her surroundings. She'd learned to keep a watchful eye out, since she only had herself here in Rivelata. No flock to guard her back here.
