Perhaps he had left commissioning ball outfits a bit late.
But, late was better than never! Jade was right, they couldn't go dressed as they were. He had an idea of what he wanted for them both anyway, though had neglected to mention it to his Colonel. Surprises were more fun, and he wasn't sure he could explain it anyway.

Schuldich had spoken to him of something called a 'tuxedo'. Peony wasn't quite sure what one was, but it sounded very sharp. He wasn't the type to cover himself in gold and silk, so this seemed a much better option. It had been a long time since he had ever had to go into a shop for anything. Today was looking like it would turn out to be an interesting Jade!

He saw the sign of the store, owned by the friendly brothers. He had only really spoken to one of them at length, but they seemed nice enough.

"Are you excited Jade? I bet you can't WAIT to see what I have thought up for us!" The blonde smiled to his best friend, elbowing him lightly in the side.

Excitement was written all over Jade's face; that is, if excitement was a look of overall queasiness, perhaps tinged with a little bit of... fear. At the mere mention of the one time chance of owning a "Peony original" his complexion had turned a little ashen.

"You Highness, we need to make sure that what we wear is proper of a head of state and the interim Commander of his Military... your designs do tend to be of a more... creative nature."

The ball would be an interesting affair. Peony would see the queen if she wanted to see him or not. He wasn't going to have a lottery decide when he could go back to his country. It may be a child's game to her, but for him, the stakes were much higher. People would not die on account of him, he wouldn't let it happen.

Dragging himself out of his own thoughts for a moment, he stopped in front of the store. Someone was there, two someones actually. A girl, and a red haired boy who he assumed was Kaoru. A friendly smile, and he poked his head into the store. "Hey, Kaoru! It's Peony, sorry I came a bit late. Stuff uhh, came up! I brought Jade with me too!"

He had heard that Tuxedo's were black. That was good, it would be a shame if blood ruined a perfectly fine outfit. The Emperor of Malkuth would do whatever it took to get some answers.

[lol at my Freudian slip, I meant DAY not JADE.]

Jade barely repressed an audible sigh of relief. This "tuxedo" thing wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. It was quite simple, actually, which he didn't mind one bit. He'd even say it seemed elegant. He definitely wouldn't mind wearing that to the ball.

So many colors to choose... but for his purposes, he would rather blend in. "I'll have the black one", he stated matter-of-factly.

"I want the black one!" He had spoken at almost the same time as Jade. The Emperor looked to his friend in surprise. Considering how Jade was always going on about his supposedly horrible taste in fashion, they had both wanted the same Tuxedo at first sight.

He loved the tuxedos, they were what he had imagined from the description. Simplistically elegant, the cut of them seemed quite flattering and it looked comortable to wear- Which was a major factor in Peony's decision. Much better than any of the fruity over-the-top outfits many Malkuthian nobles seemed to favor. He loved the black. It was striking, but serious. He wanted to wear something that would leave a lasting impression.

Kaoru laughed; they sounded like himself and Hikaru, doing the double-speak thing like that. "Actually that won't be a problem, Your Graces," he assured them, trying to remain polite in spite of his amusement. "These mannequins are set up for display, but we have a handful of duplicates in the back - the commissioned pieces were the only ones we made a single of, and the man Indiana Jones requested an even plainer rendition of the white."

He looked back and forth to the two men. "Is that all right? Or would you rather not go to the ball matched like that?"

[[ D; This place is so popular and Hikaru's not here! >.>]]

Jade pushed his glasses back up his nose, a little habit he had picked up when he first started wearing them, and which generally meant he was deep in thought. The black one was a good choice, but he feared the red tie would only bring attention to his oddly-colored eyes...

"Could I have the black tuxedo, with a black tie?"

"I want it with a black tie too." Peony's lower lip jutted out, a sign that the Emperor was set on his decision. Red would look horrible with his eyes and hair. So what, they would match. What was wrong with matching? It's not like Jade and him had the same hair too.

"We're going stag together by the way!" A friendly smile to Kaoru, and he threw an arm around Jade's shoulder. "Official business. No time to deal with girls, right Jade?"

Kaoru pouted just a bit. "But if you wear a black tie it'll just blend in to the tuxedo, so why bother wearing one at all?"

And he really wanted to hear my poem... Somehow I don't think so anymore... "Well... if you need attire for official business, nothing is better than a tuxedo where I come from!" Kaoru replied cheerfully.
