Weapon Sharpener Kagari, reporting for duty!imurvixenJune 26 2008, 01:27:05 UTC
Kagari nimbly leaped from the rooftop of Zelos' house to a lower-lying rooftop, then another, before finally landing on the ground. She hefted her satchel on her back before walking towards the Pen and Sword.
She was excited to be putting her Warrior Training to use after all of the Jungle madness. Plus, she mused as she walked, if I work alongside Zexion, maybe that'll increase my trustworthiness with the Council!
True, she didn't have nearly as much experience maintaining weapons as using them, but surely working with them every day would take care of that problem extremely quickly. She also knew they were looking for more robust people and was positive that if she could survive the Jungle, then she could survive working at the Pen and Sword.
Grinning, fangs showing, she chuckled out loud to herself. "Yeah! I can handle it!"
Going home every night to Zelos would certainly help even if something happened.
Kagari entered the building and set her things down, leaning it against a nearby wall.
She moved over to the glass case and peered down into it, eyes carefully inspecting each and every blade. Yes, she could tell they were more for display than combat. She grinned up at the woman. "I am, yes. It's very nice to meet you! Hmrr..." She suddenly realized she couldn't remember the woman's name.
That might not have been a good start to an interview.
Well, beautiful they may have been, but just for show, they were not. Larxene had carefully inspected each one from tip to tang. They were as deadly as they were beautiful.
Much like the women looking at them.
"Larxene." She didn't recall her name. Not a good start, but something that could be forgiven.
"So you're interested in working for me, hm? Sharpening, right?" She dug around in the back, then returned with a dull, rusty blade and a set of sharpening tools.
"Sharpen this. If, once it's done, I can split a hair in half, you're hired! The rest is all semantics."
Kagari wasn't sure what 'semantics' meant, but was willing to assume the 'if... you're hired!' part was more important.
She happily took the tools and rusty blade and then moved over to the wall where she'd set her things. She sat down on the floor, pulled a piece of wood out of her bag - about an inch thick, and began using the metal file to reveal the edge of the blade.
When her hand started to cramp up, she flexed her gauntlet, revealing the spikes over and over before returning to her work. That step would take awhile, of course, to do the whole blade.
[[OOC: Just looking to see if Larxene is gonna yell at her for doing this in the front of the shop XD; ]]
Yes, it seemed this catgirl knew what she was doing. In fact, she could see the shining edge of the blade under the rust already.
So she waited, watching, with bated breath. That gauntlet.... it was interesting. She might have to see if she could obtain something like that for her own, personal use.
Larxene watched her, carefully. Like a cat watching a bird, with the same sort of intensity. Good form, good tools, relatively quick, good work.
Once the other woman had finished, Larxene took the knife and pulled out a magnifying glass from a drawer behind the counter and examined the edge. No stray shavings, a nice edge....
Larxene picked one of her hairs from her head and took the knife in the other hand and ran it down lengthwise.
The blonde hair was easily cloven in two.
She smiled at the knife, he hair, then at Cagari, "My dear, I am quite impressed," She placed the knife behind the table, "You're hired on a commission basis, if you like. Or you can also work in the store, helping customers and so forth. Your choice~"
Kagari gave it a moment's thought before responding. "Can I do both? I mean, come into the store every day, but if I'm needed to work on a piece, I can take it into the back and work on it right then? It'd be a lot easier to shout for me from within the store than ask for me in the journals, right?"
Her ears flicked, anxiously awaiting Larxene's response. All the same, she was excited. It might take some reeling in before she could speak to the customers, and in the back of her mind she wondered whether or not anyone would second-guess her due to the cat-like features that some people still feared.
Mentally, she smirked. Let them deal with their own prejudices. I can do good work and they'll all see it.
She reached to gather up her things while adding, "Either way, I can start tomorrow. I'll just let Zelos and Yuffie know where I'll be and that way if they need me, they know to just come here!"
Larxene considered this, "Yes, that would work out quite well! For now, your hours are up to you. You will be paid a straight wage based on how many hours you work, plus a sort of reduced commission style payment on whatever you sharpen."
Kasa's job interviewblacksnake_kasaJune 26 2008, 01:43:53 UTC
Kasa surveyed the building. Not particularly shabby, compared to some of the places she'd had to work. She found it a little irritating that she had to find a job, but this place at least had weapons on hand, so it could prove interesting.
She wondered briefly about the sort of people who she would be working with, then decided that it didn't matter. There was plenty she could do if she didn't like them. The smiled, baring her fangs. This might be quite a bit of fun. She headed inside.
Larxene smiled, lacing her fingers together and placing her elbows on the case, leaning her chin on the platform created by her hands.
"Oh really? What kind of skills or knowledge do you have related to weapons? Cause I really don't see a need to train newbies." She smirked, winking at Kasa.
Kasa was being tested and she knew it. She rather liked this woman. So far, anyways.
"I've been around weapons my whole life, which is quite a while," Kasa said, smiling and allowing the woman a brief glimpse of her fangs. "Where I'm from, your weapon is your only friend."

But she was still dangerous.
Larxene sat behind her glass case, filled with knives as if at a hunting store... but they were much more beautiful, delicate.
"You must be Kagari," she said sweetly, "Come in, dear."

She put on her usual sweet face. No point in scaring away potential customers or employees.
"Well hello there, stranger. What can I do for you?"

"My name is Kasandra Jill Warlock. I'm here to apply for a job."
