The people in the journals - Nathan, Claire, and even Mohinder - infuriated Maya. She knew Gabriel had killed his mother, but he explained everything, asked for forgiveness, redemption. How could they accuse such a wholesome, loving man of such horrible, unspeakable acts? Stubborn as her mother, and mother before her, she stood her ground. Defended Gabriel to the very end, called everyone off, and it led to one final realization.
A realization she could not keep to herself.
Maya had been toying with the idea for weeks, forgot about it after the Masquerade when she thought Gabriel no longer cared about her, but his recent words...trying to look after her...planning a restaurant of her very own...that realization.
