She didn't want to see it. Really didn't want to. she'd been through enough, hadn't she? Lost enough friends. But for some reason, she had to see for herself if this Noah was lying. If she was playing her dirty tricks like she always did.
But she was afraid. What if it wasn't a lie? What if Allen really was there, in the Town Square, dead? Her fear left her to walk through the streets, arms crossed over her chest as she hugged herself. Hands shook slightly, and she couldn't believe she was doing this.
But if others went, she wouldn't hear from them until they returned. Miranda couldn't wait that long. This was Allens life. Whether he was alive or not. She couldn't bring herself to wait... She almost wished she could, though, just so she wouldn't have to see this.
The streets were almost empty, which was good, she decided. The closer she got to the Square, the emptier it seemed, which sent shivers down her spine and made it all the more eerie. She could hear every footstep she made, and her breathing, and the wind whispering as it hit the sides of buildings. Even though it was a warm night, and it should have been nice out, it still felt frightening to her.
But though she knew what she just might end up facing, she still packed up all the courage she had and continued to walk towards the Town Square.
