WHO: Claire Bennet [
oww_pavement] and Homura [
heavens_heretic]
WHAT: Claire gives out information to a newcomer and comes out of it with a short fuze.
WHERE: The docks
WHEN: Day 57
(4:15:11 PM)
oww_pavement: When she got the notice, Claire left the house, one of Dean's guns-- the old Dean-- in one pocket, knife in the other.
It just made her feel so much more secure.
It was almost sad that she'd come to this point, but she didn't have a choice anymore.
Running, it didn't take her too long to get to the docks, looking around for the man she spoke to earlier, rolled up piece of paper in hand, journal in her inner jacket pocket alongside her quill.
(4:20:05 PM)
heavens_heretic: The island seem to grow cooler as he walked towards the docks, he had already scoured most of the beach and found no trace of the person who had wrote to him in his journal. He was thankful, at least, for the fact that his sleeves did not become tattered. It was a good thing they were normally rolled up. Pulling them down over his arms, he spotted a young girl up ahead.
Could this be the one?
How... odd.
(4:34:47 PM)
oww_pavement: There was one of the people there giving her a curious look, and she wandered over, cocking her head at him. "Homura, is it?" He probably hadn't noticed the journal's inclination to reveal faces and names. Ah, well.
"How much do you know about Rivelata as of now?"
(4:36:52 PM)
heavens_heretic: He placed a hand on his hip, smirking slightly and looking coolly down at her with his mismatched eyes. "Were you not taught any manners? You should introduce yourself to me if you already know mine."
(4:54:01 PM)
oww_pavement: "Manners don't matter much here. Why should I give you the privilege of knowing my name if you weren't intelligent enough to figure out on your own?" she retorted, jaw set.
"Besides, fancy introductions is hardly what this meeting is about." Unrolling the piece of paper, she handed it to him. "This," she said, pointing at it, "is a map. That ought to help you a lot, for starters."
(4:58:00 PM)
heavens_heretic: A quirked an amused brow at her, "I have not had the time to make it a habit to look at everyone's journal. Nonetheless, I thank you for the map."
He looked at the map and noted where the houses were and marketplace. Did not Sylar say the houses were empty? Hm... once he found clothing he would look for a house, he thought. "So, you know my name even though I did not give it. What is yours?"
(5:04:47 PM)
oww_pavement: Why was he so eager to get her name? Brow furrowed, Claire shook her head. "I'm reluctant to give you any information about me personally until I know you won't be supporting the enemy. I do trust you understand."
The damage anyone could do single-handedly was enourmous.
(5:06:35 PM)
heavens_heretic: "I see," he replied, nodding his head. "Alright then. Though I will tell you this, I support no one. From what two acquantainces have told me, there is no reason to."
(5:24:40 PM)
oww_pavement: It was ridiculous, the way he was talking. He had already made his decisions based on what two people had told him? Who were these people? Why were they worth listening to in the first place? What made them trustworthy?
"So, that's that then? Two people talked to you and you're not to be swayed? What did they say? What did they tell you? Who are they? What makes them so reliable?"
Crossing her arms in front of her chest, she studied him curiously.
Something about him felt off. She didn't like him, but just couldn't put her finger exactly on why.
"What do you even know about Rivelata that you can just make a decision like that right away?"
(5:32:31 PM)
heavens_heretic: This girl was vertainly quite amusing, though it was also a little sad. The way she was willing to fight this war over a jaguar who calls himself a God and an immortal child.
It was almost pathetic.
"These two people are from my own world, I have more reason to trust them than you, I would imagine. However, I will not reveal who they are. What they did tell me was this, that were was a war between an immortal child who calls herself the Queen of Rivelata and a God in the form of a jaguar that give them 'characteristics' once they have joined. It was due to this that the war has been declared. Am I missing anything? Nonetheless, I see no reason for me to join either side and thus, I remain nuetral." His gold and teal colored eyes locked onto her own. "Does that answer your question, anonymous one?"
(11:33:10 PM)
oww_pavement: "Who said you had to choose one of those two sides? That's close-minded," Claire countered.
"Has someone even told you what characteristics these are?" If they had, she had no idea why he was being cryptic.
"What all do you know about Rivelata? It's sort of relevant; I don't want to repeat information for you, by any means."
(11:40:13 PM)
heavens_heretic: "No one told me I had to choose," Homura shrugged. "But I see no reason in being involved in a war that had been declared the day I arrived. The little Queen got mad because the Jaguar God changed his little minion's mind and bodies. It was of their own choosing. Whether it was good or bad, is not of my concern. And what other sides would there be, miss? It seems that no matter how many there are, they all fight for something except for, of course, the neutral side. And is that really so bad?" The tone he used was of genuine curiousity to the girl, not in his normal condescending tone. He really was curious about what this girl thought. She had obviously resided on the island for quite a while.
Homura sighed, this was both enlightening and infuriating. Something was going on with this girl to make her to dedicated to whatever side she was on.
"All I know about Rivelata is that the housing, food, and clothes are apparently free for the time being. I was informed with this journal. I'm afraid I still don't know much else and it seem the many people here are quite busy," said Homura.
(12:47:42 AM)
oww_pavement: "Changed their-- changed their minds, that hardly sounds like free will to me! Their own choosing-- what--"
She was becoming angry; this, of course, had largely to do with Peter and what had happened to him. Nathan, too, almost.
"You don't know what you're talking about. You don't have all your facts. It's not choice. And don't even dare you insinuate that we're minions," she spat back angrily, glaring up at him. "For your information, plenty of people are neutral, so if it's just your goal to be damn special, then you can throw that out the window."
Looking away, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "There's a side that's against both of these extremist sides. The side that just wants to go home, or wants peace and wants these things to stop."
"Yes, well," she countered his last statement, "some people are busy not being neutral." Thank god. "Yes, everything is free. Grab a house, grab whatever you need-- it's free for now. Don't go into the jungle, don't get lured in by the blood in the journal, don't let yourself get eaten by an imperial Shadhavar, and don't let yourself get destroyed by one of the people who involuntarily were turned into cat-people, and watch your back at all times."
With that last angry statement, she'd turned around and disappeared into the crowd again. He had all the information he'd wanted from her, and he obviously wasn't interested in getting involved.
She really couldn't put her finger on it, but something struck her as so off about him, that she couldn't help but dislike him. Ah well.
(12:51:33 AM)
heavens_heretic: Homura watched her go with a smirk on his face. While unexpected, it was certainly amusing still. Though she gave him no time to respond, the infoormation she had told him would certainly prove useful in the near future.
He shrugged. The neutral side was still his best bet for now, until he had all his facts. That much, she had been right about. Looks like it was time to go find a house and some clothes then.
