As soon as she'd read the words that he would 'pick her up', Naminé had stared at those words in silence for to her, what felt like a long time. She had been quietly sat at the end of the pier, her legs dangling over the edge, but her shoes not quite making her tall enough to reach the slightly lapping waves. Perhaps the reason she'd found herself more at ease there was because, in a way, it had reminded her of the islands. She looked up at the distant setting sun, and sighed a little, as her mind pulled itself away from thinking about Kairi. She was worried, in her way, about seeing the replica again ( ... )

He jogged the few yards between them, and stopped about three feet shy from her, eyeing her from head to toe with a strangely nostalgic expression coating his face. It had only been a few days, but it was so good to see her again. He missed her. He thought about her. He-

“Hey.” Was all he managed to say, with a crooked smile and a soft voice. He felt like if he made anymore sudden movements, if he reached out for her with his rough and dirty hands, if he spoke loudly, she might splinter and break away and disappear. He was required to be careful near her. Be gentle. A glass flower, that’s what she was-and looked like one even more so standing so close to him. She looked a bit older, a bit solemn, and taller, but she was still hopefully the same Namine that he remembered. Still beautiful. Very much so.

He held out his hand, offered it to her for her to take. Nise would guide her back home, where she’d be safe with him, and, hopefully, happy.

As he spoke, a smile seemed to flitter onto Naminé's face, very slight, but still there. "You haven't changed," she said softly. He still looked like he had done the day she'd last seen him, sincere yet cautious around her.

She looked down at his hand for a couple of seconds, before hesitating slightly with her own free one in front of her chest, and taking it. This, apart from being a reunion, was accepting she was not on the islands for the final time. Still, as she took it, she gripped it tight for a couple of seconds before her grip slackened a little.

"I've not... changed too much, have I?"

He wrapped his hand around hers, careful-firm, but not too tight-and gently tugged her forward, closer, to him. He wanted to hug her; to envelope her with his arms and keep her pressed against him. But that’d be going too far, so he pushed that thought away. Save it for sometime later.

“I’m still the same.” He reassured, still the same from when he last saw her, when she saw him a year ago, and he days ago. He still couldn’t get over that road bump.

“a year...” he murmured, leading her off the dock slowly. “You’ve gotten a bit taller,” he said with a grin, “but I can still see over your head.” Just barely-but he was teasing her. He wanted her to feel comfortable around him, even if teasing her wasn’t the best way, but it was all he could think of. “but you’re still...” beautiful “the same to me. You’ll always be.” He smiled at her, warmly and a bit shyly.

“Are you okay? You didn’t get hurt on your way here, did you?”

Sora was, in fact, in the house. He was trying to draw a map of Rivelata on the floor with a piece of charcoal, which was probably going to get him in trouble. This was one of those times when he kinda wished he'd think before he actyed. Hearing the door open, he looked up and tilted his head.

"Hi, Riku-twin," he said cheerfully, "is that Naminé? She's pretty!"

And while he said this, he threw his jacket over the map in a vaguely futile attempt to hide what he had been doing.

Naminé nodded at Nise, taking to follow him inside with a slight smile. As for the cleanliness part, she didn't mind too much - as long as wherever she slept was fairly clean and could be cleaned by her own hand, it was fine with her. That, and - she'd never seen Sora before he'd taken on the role of 'hero'... it would... be interesting in its own way to see it with her own two eyes.

Making her way inside after Nise, her smile broadened as she saw Sora. He was shorter than she remembered - even if Sora had always seemed to be just a few inches taller than her - she was probably taller than him, just about. "Hello, Sora," she said softly.

Sora scrambled up and smiled at her, extending his hand, "Hi Naminé. It's great to meet you in person! Sorry the house is kinda dusty, but we haven't have much time to clean and it's a lot harder to clean when there's no vacuums or anything to help out. This is like chores back home but ten times worse!"

Sora knew he was rambling. He did that a lot, especially when he was nervous. This whole "You've met me but I haven't met you" thing was kinda nervewrecking because he had no idea how much he changed from now to when they'd met. He didn't even know how they met, come to think of it.

Sora made a mental note to ask about that later.

“Isn’t she?” He agreed, smiling broadly. Taking a few steps away from the two of them as Sora eagerly popped up on his feet and introduced himself to her, Nise walked over to the couch-missing the charcoal map on the floor covered by the Sora’s jacket, he just assumed that was the other being messy-and hopped over it, squirming onto the cushions and stretching. “We’ll find something sooner or later. Broom, mop, whatever.” He said with a wave of his hand. “If not, we can just get some rags and have chore duties between the three of us. I’ll clean for two, Namine for one, and Sora the rest.” He grinned.
