Plans for a pub were forgotten, and the jungle was Bardo's new home. Ever since the death of that man in the park, he had fled for the trees, vines, ferns - a wilderness promising freedom, food, and life. He had found refuge in Zikhadhara's temple, in the other Ribika he had met there. Kagari was amongst them. A fine, strong woman amongst men. There were others, of course. Admirable and loyal to their God King. As well as others still in Rivelata, trapped and yearning to escape.

He felt pity for those trapped, but they will either escape or be freed once Zikhadhara's army pounces. They were just waiting for the word at this point.

And hunting.

Thrill, heart pumping fast, voices through the thick trees - Bardo was faster, stronger. Had not felt this way since his youth, his old profession. He trapped a shady under sharp claws, made a snack of its heart, and dragged it back to the temple by its legs.

Upon returning to the temple, he was met with Kagari and Kurama waking up from their cat nap.

"Good day," he purred. "I have something for you."

The scent of blood, drawing nearer...

Kurama's eyes flicked lazily to the foliage an instant before the new Ribika appeared, dragging...

Dinner.

"Gifts?" he purred softly, tightening his hold on Kagari - more than a little possessively. The Ribika was loyal, that much Kurama could smell on him. And the meat was appreciated.

They would need more, though, most likely, when the others began to arrive.

He would have to take Kagari with him when he went out to hunt. He wasn't sure he trusted the others enough to leave her behind.

A low growl rumbled from his throat before he could stop it.
