Experiment

...

A book that seems to be the common form of communication here. A feathered quill which requires no ink, because it produces a thus-far inexhaustible amount.

Either a dream, an illusion, a virtual reality, or magic. None of the possibilities are particularly promising. Especially not magic.

I hate magic.

Ω batman, ! main plot

Is magic so hard to believe in?

Most of our magics have been suppressed, but it is still very much alive.

Hard to believe in?

No.

Uncontrollable? Unpredictable? Dangerous?

Absolutely.

It depends on the user. Mages are well trained and taught to respect magic. At least, in my world.

Here, in Rivelata, everyone's magic has been blocked, so you need not worry about the abuse of it. At least, not yet. Everyone is doing their best to figure out what is going on, with little success thus far.

Has the cause of the suppression of magic been discovered?

No. But I would suspect that it is the same force which binds these journals together. The child Queen Immaculada spoke of a god as the one responsible for bringing us here as the chosen ones.

A child queen, recruiting individuals from across time and space, taking away their abilities, or at least removing them so they can't rebel as effectively...

That doesn't sound suspicious at all.

Indeed. The people of this kingdom, much less the queen, will tell us anything of use. All we can do is remain vigilant.

I trust that you will help us to find a way home, Sir..?

Given my occupation, I doubt I'll be of much use at anything else, and given returning to my time and reality is rather important to me, you can count on my assistance.

I am certain that your help would be invaluable, given your actions even thus far.

My name is Rosa Farrell, and I've opened the Rivelata Clinical Center with Sir Petrelli. If you ever have a need or want to meet with us, you are welcome.

Thank you. I'll be sure to drop by once I sort some things out, if only to get a better understanding of this world.

Clark Kent, detective, at your service. If you need to reach me before we meet, well... I suppose these make that rather easy, don't they?

Pleased to make your acquaintance, Sir Kent.

It's a bit ironic that these journals are both a good aide, and a fundamental part of our predicament.

Ah. Irony... My old friend.

You may very well find new friends here.

darkknightfall March 11 2008, 07:11:02 UTC
And new enemies, more likely.

rose_of_baron March 11 2008, 07:36:35 UTC
That may be equally likely, at most. But no matter what our dispositions, we all face the same circumstances here.

darkknightfall March 11 2008, 07:54:59 UTC
We'll see how long that lasts.

What can you tell me about "Sir Petrelli"?
