You don't become the leader of the Cimarron herd by heritage alone. There is a lot of competition to from other stallions, particularly older ones trying to combine herds, like my father did. I'm actually recently grown, and it is extremely rare for a stallion having seen less than five winters to become a leader.

That being said, I think I am more than capable of protecting myself alone, much less myself and my herd back home. None of you species-confused two-leggers are any worse than a hungry cougar, so if you're trying to make a meal out of me, you've got the wrong mustang.
