Twenty-Second Victim

Oh my, have I been dreadfully busy recently! SO many deaths to log and process and then now this. Honestly, I have enough work to do without you lot going about ruining everything, unable to keep your artist shenanigans to yourself. This is, what, the fourth time we've had to close of the Market Square to investigate and clean up?

You're all running ( Read more... )

'The Reaper'?

I hardly think that most who kill do so in order to impress those who preside over death.

No, the reasons are far simpler than that but honestly it gets so repetitive after a while you don't even bat an eyelid anymore.

Then perhaps you are unfit for your role. The position of Shinigami is not one to be taken lightly.

Oh dear, now you sound like William prattling off like that. I am a fine Reaper, thank you very much little dear and I love my work.

I just don't appreciate people messing things up so hither-tither and I think you would agree with me there. Order to follow, things in their proper place, etc.

There's artful work and then there's just plain tacky.

I do not believe that one can accurately judge their own performance, unless they are looking for areas that require improvement.

You take your responsibilties far too lightly if you encourage creativity in death - Surely your efforts would be better spent in preventing such events altogether? Murders are not part of the natural order.

You silly little thing, you're just adorable aren't you? Murders are and always will be part of the natural order.

Humans have everything they need psychologically to be a saint or sinner, a nurturer or a murderer. It is human nature to both give life and take it away.

Murder has been a part of the natural order since man became man. Alongside that is the division of Reapers who are in charge of internal Deaths- sickness & old age, and those of us in external Deaths.

I was not aware Reapers came in 'divisions.'

I can't imagine a Shinigami promoting the darker nature of humans - Why would one knowingly allow the birth of Kishin Eggs? Anyone in the role of Shinigami would know that consuming innocent souls would result in that transformation.

Well, in my world we do. Several bureaus around the world, divided into Dispatch teams headed by the Management Officers. We're an organised bunch.

And we don't promote, darling. Humans need little help being humans. I think we aren't seeing this on the same page, sweetheart. It seems we run things quite differently to you.

We Reapers don't consume souls, Demons consume souls. All we do is Reap souls when the time is right, log the Death and then usher them to where they're meant to go.

I wasn't talking about Shinigami consuming souls. If a normal soul consumes a human soul, they become corrupt.

There are only two Shinigami in my world - Myself, and my Honourable Father. Father is currently the reigning God of Death. Things are apparently run far differently than in your world.

Please excuse me; my name is Death the Kid.
