The weather has been awful lately, hasn't it? I'd never seen snow before and I never realized how cold it all was until it fell from the sky! It was rather beautiful though, and Christmas was lovely.

My master though...he's...retreated into himself again. A little more curt and a little less social. Perhaps it is merely the weather, for he never was ( Read more... )

I don't mind it. I believe that snow is quite beautiful, but not as beautiful as you.~

It is very nice of you to be worrying about other's feelings. I am doing well and I am excited for the new year. How about you? Is your master okay?

[ooc: oh goodness... xD]

You're too kind, sir. To whom do I owe gratitude for such kind words?

My name is Tamaki. I don't think I have ever heard your name.

A pleasure, Mister Tamaki. My name is Molly O'Reilley, one of the locals and a maid to an Arrival such as yourself.

Molly. What a beatiful name for a madame such as you.

How interesting. You are a local here? You did not arrive here on the ship?

Yes sir, I was born here and am a sixth generation Rivelatan. My ancestors came from the Éire- I was told you may know it as 'Ireland'.

Wow, a real Rivelatan. It must be weird to live somewhere where people from different worlds come from. I thought your name sounded Irish.

So, if your ancestors came from Ireland, we are somewhere on Earth, right?

It's all rather exciting, actually sir. I enjoy the mixture of life here, for the most part. The violence some have brought...terrifies me, but the majority of Arrivals are wonderful people.

I do not think we are on...'Earth' sir, my ancestors were the first Arrivals drawn here before the good Queen civilized this land and brought people together to create Rivelata.

Yes, the frightning ones do worry all but it is easier just to forget about it unless there is a threat.

Arrivals? You make is sound like we are a whole different type of ethnicity or something. I suppose we are something like that, though...

So, the first generation of people here were brought to Rivelata just like we were? Hm, that's funny. It makes you wonder how that queen was brought or born here. I think I see why so many people are interested in finding out how we got here now.

Yes, we natives call all those who arrive by ship 'Arrivals'. I think it has a way of bringing you all together, don't you think? That no matter where you came from, here you are all 'new' to us. It gives good reason to stick together and help each other.

The good Queen was brought here too, and her Sovereignty bestowed by the Glowing Garnet. She sees without eyes, and governs us all with justice and temperance.

Haha, that is a very good point, Molly. Then what do you call the people who came here here months and months ago? They wouldn't still be considered Arrivals, would they?

She was. Wow... I wonder how the first people got here then... Sounds so interesting...

You'll be an Arrival until you have fully integrated into our city. Then you'll be a citizen of course!

The title 'Arrival' will stay with you since you were not born here, but the next generation, should you have children, shall be natives.

Ah! I see! It's a lot like how other countries are... only, most people travel to a different country willingly...

We Rivelatans rarely travel, if at all outside of our city walls... We are safe here and the Jaguar King still has a hold on us though he is gone.

Instead, we hope to make your new life here as comfortable and as wonderful as possible.
