What doesn't he understand?
The plea bargain or the murders?

It appears that, for once, we might be in agreement.

I am glad that he did not pull the wool over everyone's eyes.

That action of his was the only logical way to attempt to save himself, now that his whole organization was compromised.

Like rats scrambling to leave a sinking ship...

He attempts to lessen his own guilt by garnering sympathy - but I felt those deaths, each and every one of them, and not a one at peace with its lot.

Those responsible must pay for their crimes.

Let me know if I can assist you in any way - I have regained some of what I was.

I would definitely appreciate your assistance.
There is a need for more level-headed individuals in this city.

You could at the very least offer your insight at the trial, if we ever manage to apprehend Zexion.

[recorded slow clap]

How very astute of you, Mr. Curtis. You have me down so well, save for a few small things.

1. I am not in command. I never was, I never will be, I have no desire to be. There is no Organization.

2. I don't want you to feel sorry for me. I honestly don't care how you feel about me.

3. Hoping for a what? No, I think not. What I am doing now is making certain that you will never, ever find me.

4. That man was once my truest and greatest friend; he was someone I loved as a brother. I died in his name, twice. And I don't believe such loyalty is something you are even remotely capable of comprehending.

4. Goodbye.

I would not be so hasty in saying goodbye if I were you.
You and I have a date in court.
And you would not stand me up, would you? It would be so rude...

So sorry, Jade, but you're not my type.

I am heartbroken, really.

Then it is only a matter of time.
And I am a very patient man.

A trial for their Superior would have been useless, so your first point is null.

And how do you know it would have been useless?
It could have given closure to the friends and families of the departed.

Who knows what we could have learned from him as well...

We do live in society, the goal is to give people a fair trial, and punish them according to their crimes, not to turn into a mob of vigilantes.

Leave the prosecution for the courtroom, please, Mr. Curtiss.

He started his defense early and publicly... I simply said my peace as a citizen of Rivelata who, I will have you note, usually ends up being right even if no one wants to listen to me.

Maybe I should have asked for a hug.
People do respond better to hugs that common sense...

I actually started to listen to you until I realized your own involvement. I am a old man, which means I was not born yesterday, or last week, even. So, please, do not insult my intelligence.
