So, in my attempts to meet new people I joined the Chicago Calligraphy Collective and this study group at The Artful Gatherings in Lemont, it's this artist workshop that this really fantastic lady opened up. She sells artwork by local artisans in the shop, and then she has this huge workshop in the back where you can do just about any sort of artwork you want to do. She hosts classes and workshops for really cheap. I was so totally excited about this, I got there and everybody was like over 60. The only person that was under 60 was the lady from my calligraphy class who's about 35. She owns a printing store that makes invitations and stuff, and has invited me to come on staff with her and start doing envelopes with hand calligraphy. But, back to my original point, everybody was older. So, my attempt to meet people my age who are somewhat intellectual and interested in art and similar things.....
................. completely failed.
However, I did run across this completely wonderful phrase...
"Body as book; Literature as lovemaking."
I love that.
I'm leaving for Bonnaroo two weeks from tomorrow night.
I'm reading the Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck.
