[DAILY] What a relief!

Nov 12, 2006 01:09

My lovely Buddha, thank you for letting me finish the stupidass damn toy chest edit for my school's newspaper at the very last minute. No, really, I'm being sincere. Because we seriously finished right before my bus came (although I still had to run after it).

Yeah, newspaper has been taking over my school life. I seriously spend all of my free time during school to work on it. Before, after, and etc. I even skipped out on a test re-take in order to work on it. Dedication or showing off my photoshop skills..? Meh, shiranai.

But Mr. Shelton aka Mr. Shelly but bka Daddy is an awesome teacher/advisor, so I have no problems with the whole trying-to-be-his-favorite thing. He even took us out to eat at Chilli's and Wing Stop. :DD

By the way, noticed the awesome-ass new layout? Yes, I know it's awesome. Stylesheet is from refuted but I customized it since it was all pink at first. The main graphic was originally a scan that I snatched from boys_paper but I edited it to fit the candy graphics that I got from candywarehouse.com! Yes, I rock at using my resources.

Now! Onto what I have been obsessing over: gYm. Well, really, that only lasted for about an hour or so before I was trying to find some more Golf-Mike stuff because they're Thai and I'm 1/4 Thai so I was like, "Oh, cool."

And then I died.

Yeah, it was like the type of dying I had when watching Question?'s performance of Precious Memories.

At first I thought their songs wouldn't be all that good considering that their collaboration with Yamapi and the others, according to some critiques I've read, is a bit average (although, personally, I find their songs to be really catchy). But holy Johnny was I freaking wrong. Their songs are absolutely amazing. By the way, first time I ever bolded in an LJ entry. Yes, they are that amazing. (Omg, bold-faced again??)

Some things you need to flat out know about them before proceeding:

¤ "Golf" & "Mike" are not their real names.
¤ They're Thai, not Japanese, like mentioned above (although they look a helluva lot more Japanese than Yamapi does, that's for sure.)
¤ They're brothers, with Golf being the older of the two (Golf is 19 while Mike is 16). Golf is the third oldest of (6 or 7?) siblings total. I don't know about Mike's position.
¤ Mike is the taller one of the two, but he has the baby face and still acts like the younger brother.
¤ In my perspective (and apparently Yamapi's as well, according to the Kitty gYm's interview in the September '06 issue of Wink Up), Golf resembles Tackey like holy crapping whoa. Seriously!

Do you not see the resemblence??

¤ They're very sensitive and emotional so when they talk about sad things or experience something on camera, they don't try to hide it. <3 Aren't they so sweet~?

Like in this YT video, for example..

Translations provided in the video's description [by kmwolm]:

(MCs talk about Golf and Mike being criticized unfairly through the internet since their debut)

Golf: We were pressured a lot by that since we've been working so hard for four years. We were afraid that our efforts would be for nothing.
Mike: But we think that if we have done our best, we should be proud of it no matter how the results may be. (thumb-up)
Golf: (smiles)

(gYm's video plays)

Golf: He's (Yamapi's) a superstar in Japan and we were out of nowhere. We didn't get any fame in Japan yet. And then, when we got to do music with him, that created a lot of pressure for us.

(Showing some internet posts by haters.)

Golf: This time, when we went to work (as gYm), we didn't expect them (the haters) to change their minds to loving us just because we got to work in Japan. We just hope that people who have loved us will continue their supports.

Mike: We were sad. We didn't understand why they had to bash us so hard. And then... later we thought that they'll realize (our hard work) one day, so we'll just have to put all of our best efforts into our works.

(Golf has tears in his eyes)

Reporter: What helped GM (Golf-Mike) recover from that feeling?
Mike: Just us. No one but us could help each other recover from that feeling. We just have to say the word... "OK."

(Golf rolls away in his chair to wipe his tears)

Mike: Krub... What? (Looks at Golf) Why are you crying...

(Golf still wipes his tears)

Mike: ...I've got a strong mind krub.

(Shows Golf's hand writing and their autographs)

"Thanks for all the support. Thanks for helping us go far beyond our dream. We will do our best. We promise.

Golf & Mike"

So... cute. Ah, they're so adorable! I especially love how they ended the video with their autographs and I also love the MIDI file playing.. I really want it ka. And they seriously do work so hard. Like, right before their Let's Bounce concert, Mike got admitted into a hospital because he had "laryngitis (no vocals to sing)," according to kmwolm, who also mentioned that "the doctor asked Mike to not use his voice for one whole week. Fans were so worried at the time 'cause the concert was due in the same time."

Translations provided in the video's description [by kmwolm]:

The sign that Mike was holding up in the hospital bed says "I'm OK. Fans don't have to worry." Later, he crossed it out and changed it to "No worries about the concert. I'll absolutely get well in time."

They're so sweet.. I swear that by the time you're done reading this journal entry, you'll fall in love with them. I swear, I swear, I swear.

Man, can you resist more of them?

In this MV of "Happy Birthday," the ending with Mike trying to cheer Golf up is so incredibly adorable! Please read the translations under the video before watching the video itself.

Beginning

(phone rings)

Golf: Hello... krub ?
The girl: I'd like to reserve a table on August 25.
Golf: Your name, please.
The girl: "Ki" ka.
Golf: Er... For a birthday party, right?
The girl: Yes. Eh... Is that Golf?
Golf: Er... er... Golf is no longer here.
The girl: Oh... Sorry.

Ending

(Golf thinks that the crane origami was the girl's)

Golf : Hey, hey... It's getting wet.
Mike : Ho... Don't be so serious. Ah, ah, ah... Here comes papa birdy, and here comes mama birdy. If you want, I can make some more. Ahh... and here comes the kiddy birdy too. The birdy family members are all here. Haha...

"Ta Lok Dee" by Golf-Mike, which is also a favorite of mine:

Fell in love now?
