Joanna and I broke up, most of my friends moved away, and I live alone in a small apartment with a tiny, empty kitchen. Now that there is nobody around to make food for me, I have been on a hunt for very simple recipes that someone with no cooking experience and no access to human supervision or companionship can make. I think you update even less than I do, which is saying something. Good to hear from you! I didn't know you and Joanna broke up -- I'm so sorry :( I hope you're hanging in there.

Pasta would be a pretty safe bet for you to cook. Boil some water, throw in some salt, let noodles cook in boiling water according to time on package, drain, dump on some pre-made sauce and you're set.

I have done this "pasta" thing before, but it always comes out rather bland for me. Is there anything I can put on it or in the sauce to make it more interesting? What goes well with pasta as a side dish?

I usually make pasta as a main dish. (Of course, I'm a vegetarian, so that may alter my thinking.) My favorite is pesto sauce (you can just buy this) with some funky noodles. Add mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini, etc. Yum :)

No, no, I totally understand. I can definitely be a food snob as well.

Maybe? I buy some local stuff from the freezer section at a local grocery store. They also sell it at the farmer's market here. So I suppose it's not just your typical grocery store pesto.

Yea. Pine nuts are like a trillion goddam dollars. Walnuts pestos are good! I recommend making one. More nutty. Also! Arugula pesto. It's not mind-blowing, but it's got a nice kick to it.

That sounds good. I love apple/cheese. I made an apple and cheese grilled sandwich yesterday and it was awesome (another easy recipe, Raph!)

I think I'm too frugal (e. g., miserly) to be anyone's sugar daddy.

I could be a sour daddy, though.

I fucking love pesto, and if it's that easy to make I'm going to eating it all the time.
