I just got back from Les Mis.
Let's see, I thought the set was a bit extravigant, and they could have used a few more people in the chorus (I mean, Les Mis just begs to have a HUGE chorus.) and I didn't like the voice of the person who played Fantein. But otherwise it was fabulus!
Especialy the scene after everyone dies, and they showed Enjorlas laying dead on his big red flag... oh, and I loved the person who played Eponine, her voice was much better suited to the role then the person on the CD version I have to the show. And the person who played Javert was awesome too, great voice, great acting, and he looked just like I pictured Javert to look like. At the end of the show, when everyone was clapping and whistling as the actors bowed, I shouted out "You rock my socks Javert!" and some people looked at me funny. Ah well :)
In other words I give the Broadway production of Les Mis currently at the Ordway the "Really Fucking Awesome" rating. And I converted Gwen to Les Mis. Which can only be a good thing.
