The party Saturday night was incredibly fun. Thank you,
thaemos and
kimkimkaree and everybody else who had a hand in it for putting together a fantastic night. I don't get to spend enough time with everybody, that's for sure.
I'm just sad my wonderful boyfriend had to miss out due to a poorly-timed gig in Berkeley. Bah. Fortunately, one of our cutesy couple-y catch-phrases is "I love you, but I don't need you" (not so cutesy in print, I know-- you'll just have to imagine the vocal inflection that conjures up images of a cat who only wants pettings on it's own terms) because we are both capable of having a perfectly good time without being joined at the hip. I would have really liked to share the goodness with him, though. I was wearing a really cute outfit, too, which he picked for me 'cause I dithered for a while between two ideas, and he never even got to see me all dolled up in it. Bah, I say again! Did anybody get pictures?
I was in the perfect mood on Saturday for just the exact night I had. I had been up 'till after four AM the night before thanks to the Plasterkatz show (which was a blast as well), had a lovely "in bed day" with the boy, got a nice big cup of chai for my drive back to Sacramento, and was fully caffeinated and had reverted to my natural nocturnal schedule-- which meant that I was rarin' to go when I got to the party at about ten.
And yes, thank you you freaks who made me pole dance (except for those of you who who dragged me up during "Back in Black." That's a terrible song to try to dance to for a first timer. I can't even dance to it without a stripper pole in my way. Can I say how glad I was that the song was almost over by the time I was [literally] hauled onstage? At least the other songs were ones I can usually not feel too stupid attempting to club dance to.) Funnily enough, now I want to try the pole while not wearing a corset so I can attempt to get acrobatic. How long are you leaving that thing up,
thaemos? Anyone want to coach me so I don't fall on my head and end up more brain damaged than I already must be to be making the request?
I know a bunch of people who were at the party are on LJ but not my friendslist (mostly the Seattle crowd, obviously) -- now that I've met most of them a couple of times I'd love it if folks could point me towards their journals.
