I hate f#&%ing bureaucracy!
The dean left early today, before I was able to get him to sign some paperwork I really needed dealt with today-- which I wasn't able to get to him before, as it also needed my department chair's signature, which I had to wait for... I have to turn in my reimbursement request to the business office before they close for the day at 5PM, or I don't get reimbursed for my expenses for the current show until the 23rd. (Checks are cut every Thursday afternoon, but I have to turn in the paperwoork the previous Thursday, because from the business office it gets sent to the district office off campus in annoyingly-non-digital, extremely slow paper form, and then has to come back to campus for the checks to be cut here.) I went to the dean of instruction (my boss's boss) to get her to sign it, but she has been in meetings all day, and doesn't want to sign anything without reviewing the paperwork, which she isn't going to have time to do today, and even then she doesn't really want to sign anything. This is about $600 out of my own pocket, which I really need to have ASAP... That money is earmarked for my plane ticket to Vegas for Jocelyn's wedding, my hotel room, and everything else I'm gonna need for the rest of the month, like food. September is always a tough month, 'cause I have no financial reserves left after a summer of not getting paid. Stupid 9 month job! Yeah, not going to be able to book my flight now until the day before I need to leave. That really blows.
