I finally was able to log on to my online course today. I had to read about ten pages of stuff about how it works and I still have a bunch more to go.
It's weird, in high school, or university, I used to bitch when we were given specfic fonts and sizes to use, now it's like....okay whatever. Doesn't really make that much of a difference to me.
The teacher is a published author that's taught at two different schools (one of which she still currently teaches at), which I think is kind of cool. I'm almost tempted to buy her book to see if I can get inside of her head a little.
It seems like it's going to be a lot more work than I thought. Group work, reading assignments, 2 book reviews (one on the textbook) one on a famous canadian author writing in your genre. And the kicker. One chapter a week, for the next four months. Expected manuscript output at the end of the semester, 50-75 pages, single spaced type written pages. All edited. Final revision. Plus : Final exam. Written at the local college. Damn! Who knew writing classes would have finals?
I haven't done this for so long. The first couple of weeks I think i'm going to get cranky and overworked. I can't even remember how I used to write anymore. Guess I have to break out the pen and notepad and go somewhere quiet. Too many computer games, and tv shows and movies and other things to distract me around here. Procrastination is not an option.
