Things I did and things I didn't

Didn't dance.  But I cleaned a corner of the livingroom, and finally succeeded in putting a light bulb into one of the kitchen lights that wasn't working (the main overhead is beyond me: I just want to replace it with something normal that takes normal bulbs.  Also, the workspace lighting over the counter between the stove and the refrigerator crumbles in my hands when I try to work on it, so that needs replacing too).  Now there is a light over the sink, and a light over the eating nook, and a light over the doorway to the livingroom (that's the one I fixed).

Also.  I grafted four French prune buds onto my Japanese plum tree, and noticed that they are suddenly! ready! and now I have to get a food-grade bucket so I can make wine. And I transplanted three of the plantlets my strawberry plants are busy producing instead of strawberries. And I pruned the camellia and the flowering maple and I took off this weird sprout that the so-far fruitless tangerine had made that was all thorns nearly as long as my thumb.  And I picked another mess of blackberries and made better blackberry jam and more this time too,  And I made the "really quick" dill pickles from The Joy of Pickling, with the following changes: added mustard seed, used dill weed instead of dill heads, and used fresh jalapeno halves instead of little dried chilies.

Also took the dogs to Bean Hollow Beach, 30 miles away but I don't know of another north coast beach where dogs are allowed at all, where we climbed rocks and I sat around for a while watching the waves and missing the nice fellow because it was so cozy to curl up against his shoulder in a place like that, all flannel against my face and the sun and the wind and the waves.  That was also the trip where I checked out the free paint at the dump and found a nice green in quantity but I didn't want green and this fellow said he had a bunch of extra tubs of the free yellow and I could come by and get them so I'm about to do that.  Also stopped at Swanton Berry Farm and scoped out the situation with regards to strawberries (Emma wants strawberry jam),  It is much cheaper to do the pick-yourself thing, so I have asked Frank to arrange to do that.  He's out there moving gravel so as to dig a hole for the drainage plan for the yard.

I have a plan to make a dog waste composter, but first I need to find my shovel that has a good edge for digging.  All I can see are the square ones for scooping.

I didn't write, but I did attempt a simple adjustment to a file for the Sims, and caused my game to crash, but I figure that's the price of learning. For those of you who know the sims, what I'm trying to do is to make Prida's "Fallingwater" windows repository so that all but one of them can be recolored with one file. The remaining one is the only one that uses a different image for its texture.

Anybody local-ish have any use for thirty to forty year old stereo equipment in okayish condition (dusty and neglected but they worked okay last I paid any attention to them)?  There's a couple of newer pieces also.
