Rally in SF to support the midwestern unions

Feb 24, 2011 21:16

MoveOn is hosting rallies nationwide Saturday to support the folks in Wisconsin (and Indiana and Ohio and the list grows every couple days).

I think I'm going. I'll leave at ten and be there a bit before the rally starts (not that I care about being prompt to rallies unless I have a logistics responsibility or something), probably catch a bite to eat or, depending on who I go with, drop in on Moher or Irene for half an hour TOPS on the way back.

Local folks: anybody in for driving from Santa Cruz to San Francisco and back Saturday? I'm willing to drive.

(the website has inaccurate mileages, which I've reported to the webmaster, but I noticed that the "online distance calculators" all have the same incorrect mileages. Nothing like the internet for propagating errors -- a side effect of propagating so much information, I guess. In any case, San Francisco is closer to eighty-eight miles from Santa Cruz, not fifty-eight. The distance to Sacramento is likewise lowballed, and I suppose therefore that Carson City is more than 194 miles from Santa Cruz.

Oh, I think I know where the error comes from -- I bet they measured the straightline map distance from the northmost edge of Santa Cruz County to the southmost edge of San Francisco County (coterminous with the City, but not in the case of Santa Cruz).

signal boost, move on, event, politics
