Let's go with the bad news.
I can't even tell you how much this sucks. I have been headachey, sniffly and just felt nauseous so I called in to work sick. They don't excuse absences for sickness, they don't excuse absences for anything. My head hurts when I try to look to the side and the headache is making hard to think straight, so calling in is the right thing to do, I don't need to get in trouble for goofing up calls because I can't think straight, but I have never had a job that maked you off for calling in sick, somehow that just doesn't seem right that it counts the same if you're sick as if you just don't show up. Grrr... Did I mention that I really am not liking this job too much?
Next the good news!
I got my final Secret Pal package today.
There is a tropical print handmade tote bag and matching needle organizer which has a little compartment for notions as well a needles. I also got 750 yards of Kid Merino Lace weight in RED! Yummy, that goes with the Fibertrends Lace Leaf Shawl pattern. I haven't been shawl pattern shopping lately, but this one is one that I would have picked for myself, I love it. I also got 4 packages of Sugar Free candies, 2 Baskin Robbins Sherbet candies, the first of which is my favorite, the second of which is a flavor that I haven't seen around here. The other two are Sorbee Candies which I haven't seen since college. They are just not available in TX, so thanks for those. I got a very patriotic tape measure, some tulip note pads, a planning calendar for 2007-8, some cloisonne beads, white with flowers. The last time I went to the bead store I had to decide between beads like these and another style of flower beads, and opted for the others, it was a tough choice. Now I got them anyway! More beads, small metalic alphabet beads which are very cute. I love them. I think my Secret Pal had a little ESP going on! the last was a glass vase full of potpurri which is very nice. I like the fragrance and I am very happy to have found a nice place for it in my office/stash room.
I am going to do what sick people do now and retire to the couch with my knitting and a remote control.
