the new wheel and I are starting to get along better. L and the new wheel spent the afternoon together yesterday and both are the better for it. Except for one minor thing circled in the first photo...

Yeah, it broke its paw by a fall onto my ceramic tile floor in the kitchen. It is now fixed because my boyfriend is awesome. I spun that yarn today too. Pretty isn't it?

Now a close up of the weird flyer thingie. It is soldered or welded or something which at first I thougt just looked wierd, now I think it is really a nuisance.

The arrow points at a rough little knob of welding schmutz or solder in the wrong place or whatever it is. It kept on holding up the yarn while I was spinning today. I finally figured out that it was actually stuck on an icky bit of metal and threaded it through the other side of the flyer. Much less frustrating.

This is a very slow wheel (compared to what I am used to) and thus I am producing some of my first underspun yarn. It is an interesting experience. I may just have to start working on yarns that don't have to be plyed. Hmmm...

Work, or training rather has taken an ugly turn this week. We didn't get our training software in the mail on time. (It was supposed to be here by Thurs or Fri.) So we have been playing catch up. I worked until midnight last night and got up at 7am to finish my homework before I left for guild so I could have a life today. Now I have another 4 hours of homework before class tomorrow and it is already after 10pm. *sigh* I must get back to it or risk having a 12 hour day tomorrow. Yeah, I expect another 4 hours of homework tomorrow.

My brain is full!

My home office is at least more pleasant. I took the time on Sat and Monday to work on getting shelves installed and stash moved to them from boxes and totes all over the house. There is probably more that I haven't discovered yet but it will wait until the training business is over or at least slowed down. It is much nicer now. I actually know how much stash I have now. FYI I have less yarn and more fiber than I thought I did.
