A/N1: This is an adaptation from one of my fav novel/writing Hlovate's Rooftop Rant. The writing is so inspiring that I can't help but keep reading it over and over again. Then I thought it would be nice if I can write a different version of it. It might be a bit similar but as the story goes, I'll try to write it in a different way. So here I am :')
A/N2: I love Ryoda a lot but I’ve never write anything about this pairing. So I thought it’s about time for me to write Ryoda fiction. Since I’m very much new to this writing and LJ thing, be easy on me please? *puppy eyes attacks*
CHAPTER 6 - YOUNG AND LOST
Oh my~ Tatsuya went blank for a moment. He reached out and pulled Ryo’s backpack and made Ryo stumbled backwards a bit.
“What?” Ryo glanced at Tatsuya who was fidgeting at where he was standing. “Are you coming or not?”
This guy…Tatsuya gritted his teeth. He brought me all the way here already and he still dares to ask me if I’m going to follow him or not. I’m here already, geez! Tatsuya made a sour face. “You do know I don’t like places with many people, don’t you?”
“There are only 2 boys there. Hurry up” and he continued to walk while pulling Tatsuya’s backpack, dragging Tatsuya along with him.
“Ryoooooo….”
Yamapi and Jin watched as Ryo was dragging someone towards them. Whose kid that Ryo is bringing with him? And what’s with dragging the backpack like that? Ryo looks like he’s dragging a little puppy. Both Yamapi and Jin exchanged glance. The game had stopped and Yamapi forgot to pass the ball in his hand.
“Oi” Ryo greeted as soon as he approached his friends. “Tatsuya” he pushed Tatsuya forward. “Yamapi and Jin” he introduced the two boys in front of Tatsuya.
And Tatsuya did the only thing he can in such a situation, bowed to the boys and smiled awkwardly. Why does he have to bring me here? The boys bowed too before one of them came closer to Tatsuya and stared at him. Tatsuya was fidgeting uncomfortably.
“You’re a boy! Like us!” Jin exclaimed in shock. Both Yamapi and Jin turned to look at Ryo who was acting all cool and relax. Tatsuya pouted.
“Yeah. Sorry to disappoint you, Jin” Ryo mocked as he patted Jin’s back with a smirk formed on his handsome face. And Tatsuya’s pout grew wider. “Pi, give me the ball” and Ryo made his way to the middle of the court, rebounded the ball without looking back at 3 younger boys who were standing at the side in daze.
“So, why did Ryo bring you here?” Jin slumped on the floor of the court at Tatsuya’s left side.
“What is your relationship with Ryo?” and another question from Tatsuya’s right side. Tatsuya turned his head to the right, only to find Yamapi also sat on the floor. Left with no other choice, Tatsuya took a seat too, sandwiched between Ryo’s two friends.
“Are you a high school student?”
“Which school are you from?”
“Where are you staying?”
“How long have you known Ryo?”
Tatsuya closed his mouth tight. Somehow he felt he had committed the biggest crime in the world that led him to this kind of investigation. And those 2 friends of Ryo were some kind of FBI or CSI or something.
“Are you mute?” okay, first note about Jin; he was super straight forward!
“You attacked me with more than 2 questions at one time. How am I supposed to answer it?” Tatsuya mumbled in a low voice, eyes fixed on Ryo who was in the middle of the court alone. Tatsuya just didn’t know where he should land his eyes actually and he loved watching Ryo.
Both Yamapi and Jin laughed. “Ah gomen. You’re right” Yamapi switched his gaze to Ryo who was aiming to shoot the ball. “So, how did you know our Ryo-chan?”
“He helped me some time ago” Tatsuya replied. “Are you guys his college friends?” suddenly it felt awkward. Tatsuya knew he was bad in dealing with people. He had never been good when he was around anyone. Ryo was an exception of course. He didn’t know why but Ryo was the only one who can make he felt comfortable to have someone around.
Yamapi nodded. “And also childhood friends”
“So, why did Ryo-chan bring you here?” Jin asked the earlier question again. “Are you his girlfriend?” and Yamapi smacked Jin hard in the head.
“He’s a boy, Jin. A.B.O.Y!” Yamapi gave a death glare and Tatsuya rolled his eyes to Jin.
“What’s with that crap?” Tatsuya looked at Jin with wide eyes. “And how am I supposed to know why he brought me here?” he looked back at Ryo. Ryo looked hopeless and wreck. The way he bounded the ball and the way he shot showing that he wanted to let his frustration and anger out.
“Does he always behave like that when he’s in a bad mood?” he suddenly changed the topic. Both Yamapi and Jin looked at Ryo and both nodded simultaneously.
“Is he going to be alright?” there was a sign of worry in his voice.
“It depends” Yamapi gulped the water from his bottle. “If the tension is low…”
“…he can already smile and laugh by the end of the game” Jin continued.
“If the tension is high?” Tatsuya turned his head a bit, giving Yamapi a look that was hard to describe.
“He won’t talk at all” and Tatsuya gulped. Please Ryo, don’t stop talking to me.
“Don’t worry” Yamapi tapped Ueda’s shoulder with a sincere smile planted on his handsome face. “He talked to us earlier, right?” Ueda nodded. “Then, he’ll definitely talk to us again after this” Ueda smiled this time. Somehow it didn’t feel awkward anymore. Now he understood why he felt comfortable to have Ryo around him, why Ryo managed to make his heart at ease, and why Ryo was the only one who can read everything through him. Having Yamapi and Jin as his friends, Ryo must be really lucky. These two seemed to know Ryo really well. It must feel good to have someone who can always be your shoulder. Ueda threw his gaze back to the court. Ryo, be happy too. Don’t close your eyes and heart because we are all here.

update again ^_^ i think am getting suck at this *sigh* there's a lot in my mind lately and i hardly can focus on anything. but, hope you still can enjoy this update~
