Summary: "Aren’t you afraid to see who I really am?".
"No," said Harry,"I already know your worst side. You didn’t answer me. Do you regret it?"

A kiss had been enough, given by tradition under the mistletoe, for him to find himself at the Manor. He awakened in an empty bed, without the man who had tempted him here. Looking around he saw the indistinct profile of Draco, wrapped up in a blanket, standing quiet and still in front of the window.
He stretched to reach his spectacles and take them from the bedside table. In the reflection of the glass, a tear on his face suddenly became clear.
He got up making enough noise to let his silent companion know that he was awake. He covered himself with a sheet and moved close to Draco.
"You look distant-a thousand miles away. Are you sorry?" asked Harry, hugging him from behind and placing his hands on Draco's hips. The blond remained silent as the dark haired man caught one of his hands and interlaced their fingers. "Tell me what you're thinking. Talk to me, please."
"You know it is not easy for me ..." replied Draco.
"So what do I have to do, ask for private lessons in Legilimency?" asked Harry with a half-smile.
"Aren’t you afraid to see who I really am?".
"No," said Harry,"I already know your worst side. You didn’t answer me. Do you regret it?"
Silence again. Draco looked up and their eyes met.
Harry, being a true Gryffindor, plucked up the courage he needed and continued. "My life has always been only solitude. When I arrived at Hogwarts, the Weasleys became the family I never had, but despite their presence, the pain that I had in the bottom of my heart was still there. You filled that empty place. You challenged me, spurring me on, and then you caressed me, loved me... made me yours. I’ll never make you understand what it means, what I felt in your arms tonight, and now I'm scared that I’m not the love of your life..." he said leaning his cheek on the shoulder of the snake.
"Love for you will become only one name," Draco's words were little more than a whisper, "you’ll deny it, you’ll fight it, but if you do not follow your heart in the dark, if you don’t protect him, you'll be alone forever."
"It’s your prophecy?" asked Harry.
Draco just nodded.
"Then why do you look so sad?"
"Tonight I gave you a huge power over me," said Draco, "and now my happiness depends on you. That is something new for me, something I had never done before and it scares me to death."
Harry said nothing, but moved to stand in front of him, embracing him, and resting his head against Draco's chest. "Can't we be scared together?" he asked.
Draco stroked his hair, and then lifted his chin, kissing Harry tenderly.
"Speaking of fear," Draco began with a sly smile, "My parents are waiting for us for breakfast."
"But how--"
"... do they know you're here?" interrupted the former Slytherin, completing Harry's thought. "Well! If you look at the painting above the fireplace you will notice the absence of my great-uncle Augustus, who cannot shut up even in death."
"Draco, I can't, your father..."
"Don’t worry about him," said Draco. "I can keep him at bay. The conversation won't become about us until you want it to."
"What are you talking about! Your father is just waiting to kill me!"
"My father is many things, and he made many mistakes, but mostly he is a shrewd politician. It’s easier that now he is pulling out the red carpet. As soon as he learned that we're together, I'm sure he started to think about how to use your fame to bring the Malfoy name back into the good graces of the Ministry, but I will not let him use you."
At those words Harry's eyes became teary. This was new for him, to feel safe and let someone take care of him.
"I love you Draco," said Harry softly, looking into Draco's eyes.
The emotion that transpired there in those gray was the only answer that Harry needed
