A Couple of Whirlwind Weeks
Graduation:
Alec received his BS degree from Ithaca College on May 20. It was a nice ceremony with great weather and most of the speeches were good. The Commencement Speaker was Amy Kule who graduated from Ithaca College in 1987 and is now the executive producer of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Not only was her speech entertaining and inspiring, but she brought two huge star-shaped helium balloons and sprayed the graduates and their audience with blue and yellow confetti.
We held two graduation parties in Alec's honor. One was immediately following graduation in Ithaca and the second one was at home on Saturday for family and friends.
Whew!
Retirement:
I attended two retirement dinners. The county dinner was on May 24. My district's retirement dinner honoring 11 retirees (a lot for a small district) was last night.
I am very tired.
