Have you ever been sick and tried to imagine what it would be like to NOT be sick? I'm in day five of a wicked sinus infection that has pretty much grounded me and I'm trying hard to picture myself well. What does it feel like to be able to breathe without stuffiness, speak without raspiness, and have energy to do something... anything other than sitting on the sofa or in my comfy office chair with a cup of tea and a box of tissues?
I am able to think a bit. Not as clearly as usual, but I am thinking. So I'm writing.
While browsing around the Internet yesterday, I came across this interesting project. It's called:
Make Something 365 and Get Unstuck. It's a companion blog/ website for two books by Noah Scalin. If you are a creative sort but occasionally have the misfortune to run out of juice, this might be a good site for you.
There's a few similar projects that involve photography, such as the
365 Project. You take one photograph per day and upload it. You and other members make comments on each other's photos. I registered and looked around at the photos. The quality of many of them was very intimidating. Many seem to be taken by professional photographers. Flicker also has a
Project 365. I'm no photographer but if I forced myself to upload one decent photo everyday, I'm sure I'd improve.
I've also found several 365 writing projects. These are mostly writers' blogs in which they have challenged themselves to write something everyday for a year. There is
365 Letters,
365-day Novel Writing Project, and someone who blogged about other people's
365-day projects.
It's already January 6th, so if I choose to begin any of these projects, I'm already late.
But better late than never. As long as I don't take another 360 days to decide what I'm going to do.
