Any takers?
I have an extra ticket to the Porcupine Tree show tonight at Lupo's, 9pm (doors at 8). We are leaving campus around 6:30, passing through Coventry, and then on to Providence. Cost is $20. Call me (4870184) if this sparks your interest. Pronto. Save a good Mike a wasted twenty bucks.
Scratch that. The show was fucking amazing times ten. Amazing. Steven Wilson is a goddamn genius. The man did not wear shoes. And thank the Lord he got a haircut, he looks decidedly less creepy than many pictures I've seen. Anyway, SW's side project Blackfield opened and were awesome, sounded like old Porcupine Tree stuff. Then PT came on, songs I recall them playing were Arriving Somewhere But Not Here, Deadwing, Halo, Lazarus, The Start of Something Beautiful, Open Car, Blackest Eye, Sound of Muzak, Heartattack in a Layby (!!!!), Radioactive Toy, So-Called Friend, Don't Hate Me and a few I didn't recognize. There were quite a few people who were probably on acid, including one guy who got dragged out by security about five minutes after the show started. We were in the second row of people from the stage, and I can now say I have been within three feet of Steven Wilson. Many of the people there were "40-something guitar nuts." That is all, I had almost forgotten how unbelievably awesome Porcupine Tree is. I'm going to bed.
