An't it Sweet...
The average for the class for the most recent lab (worth 2 labs), was around 50-60ish/100 from whose papers I was able to read over. Gotta love the curve (for those who arn't curve blessed 50-60/100 is now a B-)! When I obtained my lab, to my dismay, I got a 21/100. For anyone who knows me and for people that don't even know me THAT well know that this was NOT OKAY. I cried for about 20 mintues. Then, when I went to sleep, I couldn't go to sleep...and cried some more. I COULDN'T believe it. I did feel like I didn't do as well as others on the last lab, BUT THAT BAD?! What did I do wrong, I blamed laziness, procrastination, myself, more myself, and again, me. I couldn't understand it...and finally...I accepted it.
My professor just sent out an e-mail clarifying how the last lab was graded. 25% for each of the 3 parts and 25% for comparing each part. Wait. What? WHAT comparison part?! I read through the entire lab again. Nope...nope...wtf? Nope... he's crazy... and...oh. ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS!? Throughout the entire 2 1/4 page lab the professor only mentions the "camparison portion" of the lab in 4 words, "...so compare any differences" AND in the VERY last sentence. Seriously, 4 words lost me 25% OF MY GRADE!? FUCKING-A! I can except that I did something really fucking irresponsible, like procrastinating or being lazy, but it's SO MUCH MORE diffictult when it was an accidental over looking of the four last words of the fucking lab!! Is it still my fault? ABSOLUTLY. I take full responsibility that I did not read the lab thuroughly enough. However, I do hope that the professor would have at least have a little sympathy here. I mean seriously, it would bring my grade from F- to around a D+/C- with the curve. Of course, the likley hood that it'll happen is null, so I'm going to get my ass to lab and work my little touche off. Luckily my other labs have been more sucessful. (By a lot.)
