So... today at Thanksgiving #2, my grandma made each family go around and say what they were thankful for... our turn rolls around and my brother Andy says, "Don't worry Mom, I've got this one."
Everyone in the room makes that "I-don't-believe-this" half-throated laugh and looks at Andy as he rises from his chair, beer in hand.
He says: "I am thankful... for carbon. Without carbon, none of us would be here right now. We wouldn't have... [at this point I missed a few lines because I was laughing so hard.] ... and we wouldn't have carbonated beverages. Now where would we be without those? [I mumble "sober" under my breath and my cousin laughs.]
Andy continues: "I'm also thankful that we have good food to eat, for safe travel, and that none of us have the bird flu... yet."
This is why I love my family.
