another flight of people are headed off to moscow this evening and tomorrow.
but the rumour is that the lenin mauseleum is EMPTY because they're lowering him into a vat of chemicals and cleaning him with a toothbrush. they do that every 18 months or so to keep the mold from growing on him. I hear that he's kind of shiny in appearance. So THAT'S disgusting.
I think if it's a little warmer tomorrow I might just go wander the city. Try to mail off some postcards while I'm over by st. isaac's, see the bronze horseman in the snow and take some random pictures while I'm out and about. I'm also on the hunt for the third book in a trilogy, 2/3 of which was on the shelf in my room when I arrived. I need to know how it ENDS dammit. Apparently there's a good (::cough:: cheap) english language bookstore over by ploschad' vosstania so i'll head over there since it's really close to my house at some point. I'm basically going to hang out alone tomorrow and explore I guess. See how productive I can be.
then lock myself in the apartment and work on my presentation for razgovornaya praktika and my other random homeworks for the weekend.
presentations suck.
I'm unhappy that next week is thanksgiving and we have to make up the first monday of the month that was a holiday for us up on our normal day off (wednesday) which ALSO happens to be phoebe's birthday. we were originally told that we had thanksgiving off, NOW knowing that we have class monday through friday? uncool.
If you've been paying attention to my entries, I think my english constructions and word choice gets periodically STUPIDER as time goes on. The other day in the hermitage we were talking about which rembrandt we liked and I forgot the word for crucifiction (i KNOW i can't SPELL it anymore) and I resorted to the skills I learned in russian when i don't know the suschestvitelnaya for something..."there's jesus and the cross and blood..."
