This is hard.

I feel like in the very first couple of days of being here that things are getting better though, my comprehension is going up a bit and my ability to speak and remember words, formulate sentences, that sort of stuff, is finally coming back (considering this is our second day and it's sort of rushing back in, that's a good sign i guess). We even had success today at planet fitness, discussing the benefits of group/single membership and student discounts.

I tried borsch (pinkest stuff I've ever seen) and kvas today at yolkie-polkie, a very traditional restaurant on nevsky, sort of near mayakovskova. We eat just as often, but I feel like i'm eating less at every meal (and still be satisified). However, I think i'm still jetlagged and have a constant caffeine headache that i need to break.

To describe this city: bigger than you can ever imagine, very dirty (don't drink the water or breathe the air..and now imagine how gross the metro is) but still beautiful with all of it's architecture.
the people: interesting fashion sense (a mixture of ultra-modern and things we left behind in the 80s, and chicks with mullets), some sympathetic with our bad russian, others impatient. one of the guys in the program was called "international guy" by a woman selling flowers on the street. We're already having funny little things happen, so this'll be memorable and life changing, i can tell that already, i think i already am a bit.
