Progress

12 days after my surgery.  Two vicodin, 4 times a day has been replaced by just 2-3 over the whole day.  Sleeping 18 hours a day has been replaced by sleeping 10-12.  Nasty red cut has been replaced by a pink scar.  The bandages have been replaced by a simple band-aid.  I'm supposed to start carefully putting weight on the foot again, just up to the point that it hurts.

In other words, things are coming along well.

Results have come back from the labs regarding the bit of tissue that they analyzed. In addition to the neuroma, there was a bunch of fibrotic tissue in and around it, fatty tissue in and between all that, and other nerves running through the mass. Which is explains part of why it hurt so much, and also might be part of why it wasn't healing on it's own.

The doctor says i'm healing very fast.  Kev jokes about my being part wolverine, which is really cute.  But what keeps amazing me is when Kev tells me  I'm beautiful even though I'm hobbling around gracelessly in sweatpants, my hair a mess, and no make-up  That is just utterly priceless, and something that makes me smile whenever I think about it.

I've begun working at little bit from home, hoping to be back at work next Monday.
