It's alive!!!

We've been busily moving.  It feels good to sit down.

This is the first post from the new house. Internet is up, which, along with a place to sleep, is the highest priority for actually living in the new house.

Currently posting from a haphazard setup involving nightstands as desks, with a drawer pulled out as the keyboard rest. Only furniture at the house right now is the stuff we could fit in our little honda. Wires all over the place, and nothing else.

People have actually volunteered to help us move. These people have been added to my favorite people list. :)  Personally, I -hate- helping people move. It's a long frustrating process.  I'd rather, oh, say, donate for a bone marrow transplant than help with a move.  So, people volunteering to help with a move, without even being asked, just because we mentioned we were doing it..... is jaw-dropping to me. Particularly coming from people that we've only recently gotten to know.

This does tie back in to the hacker setup we have in here. We'll get our desks this weekend, along with the rest of our furniture, when we bring in the UHAUL. This is where the above mentioned greatest-pals-ever friends will come in.  We will be feeding them pizza and soda, (and beer if they want it.)

We've probably hauled 12 loads of stuff out to the new place already. Not bad for something we have to fit in around our work hours. I'm taking half-days to do the bulk of the packing, then kevin handles the loading of the boxes into the car when he gets home. We load the car tightly, then drive 15 min down the road to the new house.   Pack, shuttle, unpack, repeat.  Sore from doing this for hours for the last 4 days.  We still technically have 6 days before we have to be out of the old place.

Hoping to be done this weekend though, so I have free time to dig up the plants I put in the yard at the old house, and maybe even raid a few other hardy plants for transplant to the new place.

Mine mine mine!  :)
