Scooping Woes and Observations

People are so fascinating. They come in and buy sugar free gelato, which costs 50¢ extra, but then want it in a sugar cone... So, either 1) they're really stupid diabetics; this is unlikely or 2) are trying to follow some sort of diet, Atkins or whatever, and are trying to cut down on sugar, but then screw themselves over by getting a cone; this is more likely. And then there are the others who order their cones, cups, and what not and then ask how much it costs. They never bothered to look at the lovely board of prices (written out by yours truly) and instead are depending on my honesty. I could give them a bogus price and throw the rest in the Tip Jar, but I'm a little too honest for that. But honestly, people... there are so many people out there who could so easily scam you because you don't use your brains.

Tonight was crazy busy. I was scheduled to be alone from 5-10. But, at 8:30, with an entire store full of customers, a line-up out the door and an uncomfortably full bladder, I called for back-up. I thought about announcing to the 30 or so customers that I had to pee, so could they just wait another moment or so, but I didn't feel like making such a public announcement, so I called Cora. Poor Cora had already worked 9-5:30 (it got busy, just as she tried to leave) and then from 8:30-10. I thanked her over and over and over for coming in. I love her, she's so incredibly nice. Anyhow, between 8 and 9, we racked in over $230... that's CRAZY! Considering cones cost $2.75, $3.95 and $4.95 for 1, 2 and 3 scoops, respectively. Although, in that hour, I did get a $5.05 tip! Considering the guy's cone cost $3.95... that was incredibly good! Must've been the HOT pigtails I had, I mean what else could the attraction have been? I always look so hot when I'm at work... Anyhow, what a day! At least I have three off now though because Ally is coming!! Exciting, exciting!

13 days until my last day of work. 16 days until I move in to rez. Rah, rah!
