Because I'm a Dork
Because I'm trying to cheer myself up over many things I shall post THIS -
HAHAHAHA OMG *falls over* wow...That was like the first anime masq I was in (AX 2002). And full of LOL's Weird to hear "Pretty Mutation Cosplay" and "Yumi and Usa" again...but I've been searching for that for years. I had contacted someone who said they had that masq on tape and even gave them my address, but received nothing after several emails and him saying he would send it like twice XDDD But ya...
That skit was sooooooo last minute! That was the year I was trying to finish our Clover costumes for and finally the day before we left for AX I just couldn't get them done and gave up. So who am I to pull out of a Masq, huh? Granted I had NO IDEA how things were run so since Crystal and I both had those school uniforms and she had crazy hair and I had fun colour hair we decided to make up a dance that we had played around with one night months before when having fun coming up with dumb Masq skit ideas LOL When we handed in our music and they tested it they seemed a bit surprised and people laughed XDDD We apologized and they told us not to worry - people have had weirder stuff LOL
Just a few hours before show time I rehashed a bunch of stuff in the choreography and you can see on Crystal's face a few times how she's all "uh...and WHY did you put that in?" LOL And I keep looking over at her to make sure she's getting it down, but it makes it look like *I* don't know what I'm doing ...der...And my kick was half ass because of the width of the skirt...I totally forgot LOL Can't do a high kick without a loose (or shorter) skirt hahahaha But I don't mind! We're "fighting" over the Tenchi sword I had made since you can't see it btw...the hardest part about the dance was making sure we didn't tromp upon it since we set it on the stage.
Of course we didn't win anything, but I had a LOT of fun with it (even with suffering an asthma attack once we got off stage >_<) People actually knew who we were! And we had a lot of people stop us later while in the halls saying how much they liked it =D Even a reporter from an OC paper talked to us about how much she enjoyed it ^___^ I think compliments like that are really worth the performance. Better than rewards to me XDDD
Oh...and this was in the Long Beach Terrace Theatre for those unfamiliar with it. I wish we could use that again (OMG a REAL stage), but apparently they're using the arena so I don't know the set up...oh well...not like I'm IN the masq this year -_-
